TTT #172 | Purple, Yellow, and/or Green Book Covers

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Purple, Yellow, and/or Green Book Covers in honour of Mardi Grass. So I had a look on my shelves and picked out 10 books I still need to read. Let’s dive in!

1.Strange Grace – Tessa Gratton

I immediately picked this one out when I read the prompt for this week. In real life this book is a lot more purple than it appears the be, and I think the cover is really pretty but haunting. I want to read this book badly, but I just haven’t had the time to pick it up. Hopefully soon though!

2. Black-Eyed Susans – Julia Heaberlin

This one has been on my TBR for quite a while. But since I’m reading more and more YA mystery/thrillers, I might also finally pick up the adult ones I still have on my shelves. At this point I don’t even remember what this book is about but I think that’s a good way to go into a mystery book.

3. Forest of a Thousand Lanterns – Julie C. Dao

I wanted to read this one so badly! But now it’s actually been years and I still haven’t. When Forest of a Thousand Lanterns first released I heard so many people talk about it, but pretty quickly that died down and I’ve ever again heard anyone mention this book. I do still want to read it though.

4. Daughter of the Burning City – Amanda Foody

I have read another Amanda Foody book I loved and this one sounds right up my alley. The reviews are pretty decent and I think the book looks gorgeous. It’s also nice to read a standalone fantasy novel every now and then. Even though I always want more afterwards haha.

5. White Rabbit, Red Wolf – Tom Pollock

This is another one I’ve had on my shelves for quite a while now. I was super excited to read it when I just got it but I just didn’t get around to reading it. And as that goes, I just still haven’t. At some point I will!

6. Hollowpox – Jessica Townsend

This is one of the most recent books I got and I plan on reading it very soon. I loved the first two books in the Morrigan Crow series and I’m excited to find out what our girl is up to in this sequel.

7. The Girl at Midnight – Melissa Grey

I totally forgot I even owned this book. But looking back I do love the cover and I am actually interested in reading the story. I’ve seen some good reviews and I think it might be a book for me!

8. Capturing the Devil – Kerri Mansicalco

I still need to read the third book in the series before I can read this finale book. And I plan on doing so this year, let’s hope I can stick to that plan. I’m excited to find out how this story ends.

9. A Reaper at the Gates – Sabaa Tahir

I own the Dutch version of this book and ‘m actually waiting on news about the translation of the last book. If they don’t translate it, I’m not sure if I want to read this third one in Dutch either. It’s tough decision what’ll do but I do want to finish this series.

10. Seraphina – Rachel Hartman

This is another one that has been on my shelves for ages. I’m still interested, who wouldn’t be interested in a dragon book? The cover also looks quite appealing however this is also the start of a series and we all know I’m in the middle of way too many already haha.

These were 10 books with purple, yellow, or green covers. Have you read any of these books? Which one should I pick up first? Let me know down below!

  1. I love Tom Pollock’s books! You should definitely read White Rabbit Red Wolf. I have Forest of a Thousand Lanterns on the shelf behind where I sit for work so I see it every day and I still haven’t read it.

  2. Great list! I have just about figured out mine but now I am just trying to actually write it all out and post it. There were actually too many awesome books to include with this weeks prompt 🙂

  3. Forest of A Thousand Lanterns and Daughter of The Burning City were both on my list this week too. I hope you enjoy Capturing The Devil more than I did, I found it kind of a let down.
