Looking Back at Our Bookhauls| February 2020

We’re already one week into March so today we are going to look back at our February 2020 bookhaul. These posts are always nerve wrecking as we don’t read as many backlist books as we’d like. We try to make them a priority and maybe this is the year we actually manage to make a dent in those TBR’s, haha. Let’s jump in!

Candyce

This month was actually one I was nervous to look at, because I honestly couldn’t remember what books I added to my collection last year. In February 2020 I added 8 books to my shelves. Let’s see what they were and how many I’ve managed to read.

Snug: A Collection of Comics About Dating Your Best Friend – Catana Chetwynd
Read

Catana Comics is one of my favorites. I don’t remember how I stumbled upon this comic, but it’s so relatable. I have a daily calendar this year and love it. Snug is a book I read as soon as it was delivered. There is a new book that I just ordered as well!

The Library of the Unwritten – A.J. Hackwith
Unread

I’m actually really surprised I haven’t read this one yet. The Library of the Unwritten is a book that got a lot of praise last year and that I’m really curious about. The sequel was under the Christmas tree last year, so I think I need to get going with this one!

Sorcery of Thorns – Margaret Rogerson
Read

Sorcery of Thorns is still a book I think about now and again. I really enjoyed the concept. I mean magical books are always interesting to read about. Part of me still wishes this wasn’t a standalone though. There are definitely some story lines I would’ve liked more of.

Foundryside – Robert Jackson Bennett
Unread

I still love how pretty this cover is and have even heard amazing things about the sequel now. Foundryside is definitely a book I need to make time for soon!

Swap’d – Tamara Ireland Stone
Unread

Again, I’m surprised I haven’t read this. Click’d and Swap’d sound like books I’m going to fly through. Middle grade is something I’ve really been enjoying, so these need to be read really soon. I may just interrupt my TBR this month to grab at least the first book and read it.

Heartstopper Vol. 1-3 – Alice Oseman
2 read/1 unread

As soon as I got Heartstopper I read the first two volumes in now time. I honestly forgot I still haven’t read the third one! These are such fast and fun reads. With the release of volume 4 around the corner I need to read vol. 3 really soon.

Results:
TBR: 4/8 – 50%
Read: 4/8 – 50%

Isabelle

I was pretty excited to look at this month, because I was pretty sure I did a good job. Last year I started to buy less books so I hope I have some good looking back posts haha. In February 2020 I only got two new books so let’s take a look at them.

Heartstopper vol. 3 – Alice Oseman
Read

Heartstopper is one of my favorite graphic novel series ever so of course I read this one pretty soon after I got it. This series (and this instalment) is amazing and I adore it so so much. I can’t wait for the next volume, it releases in May and I hope to get a copy soon after the release.

The Promised Neverland 7 – Kaiu Shirai
Read

The Promised Neverland is one of my favorite manga series and I like having one of two volumes on my TBR for whenever I’m in the mood to read some manga. Right now I don’t have that many unread manga on my shelves so I wouldn’t mind getting some more ;). This story ended with quite some suspense and I can’t wait to read what happens next.

Results:
TBR: 0/2 – 0%
Read: 2/2 – 100% (WOOHOOOOO)

This was our looking back post for this month! We also plan on doing a looking back post at a whole year. Would you like to see that? Let us know down below!
