We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books that Should be Adapted into Netflix Shows. And as an avid Netflixer this topic is right up my alley! So let’s jump right in.
1.The Naturals – Jennifer Lynn Barnes
(and the Fixer and the Debutantes)
Jennifer Lynn Barnes is one of my favorite authors and after finishing her newest book last night, I knew The Naturals had to be on this list. The Naturals series wasn’t the first I picked up but I do think it’s the one that’s easiest to turn into a show. It’s basically Criminal Minds with teenagers so I’m sure there’s an audience for it. And if this works out, maybe we can also get a show for The Fixer (and hopefully a third book) and one for The Debutantes. I LOVED all of those books and I can already imagine how awesome it would be. The Fixer is Scandal but for teenagers and I don’t even know what I would compare The Debutantes to.
2. The Raven Cycle – Maggie Stiefvater
There might have been an option on this one at one point but I don’t really remember to be honest. I think this series could provide some gorgeous visuals to show and the storyline is quite engaging. And of course I’m already looking forward to a cast for this one. I love these characters and the casting should be perfect.
3. Shades of Magic – V.E. Schwab
I’m almost a 100% sure that there was an option on this one as well. We all know that it would be super cool to have these 4 London’s on Netflix and I already know people will want to watch it with just that fact in mind. Of course the story is also amazing and Victoria said there will be more books in this world. So after the initial 3 seasons we might be able to get some more!
4. Throne of Glass – Sarah J. Maas
Throne of Glass definitely had an option on it but I wouldn’t want just anyone in charge of this project. This book series is one of my absolute favorites and while it could be extremely cool is this was made in to a tv show it could also be a complete disaster. I think the casting would be very interesting and I would love it if they incorporated the novella’s as well.
5. The School for Good and Evil – Soman Chainani
While this is a middle grade book series I think this would make for an amazing tv show. The premise of the books of amazing and I think there is a lot of potential to draw out the story a bit. Of course there are more books coming to this series so there is enough plot for at least 6 seasons.
6. The Beautiful – Renee Ahdieh
The second book in this series only just released so that could either be a pro or a con. But I think this would make for an amazing show. I can already imagine all the old clothing to fit the time frame. The show would be a bit dark and there might have to be a couple of changes to keep the public interested but I think it could turn into something bigger pretty soon after that.
7. Three Dark Crowns – Kendare Blake
This is one of my absolute favorite series and I’m so ashamed I still haven’t read the last book. Can you believe that? However, I think this would make for an amazing tv show and since there are basically 3 main characters people could root for just one of the three. It would be cool to see people discuss after the episodes and all hope for a different sister to win.
8. The Witchlands – Susan Dennard
I should really read the third book soon, before you know it we get a new installment! That one will release in February so I’ve got a bit of time. This series has such a cool world and different kinds of magic, I think they would translate to the small screen very well and would be such a fangirl for this show.
9. The Infernal Guard – SGD Singh
It’s been a while since we read The Infernal Guard but this book still deserves all the praise we gave it. I really liked this series and it criminally underrated. The books are quite diverse and definitely hold your attention. This sounds like the show Netflix would go for, for sure!
10. The Nevernight Chronicle – Jay Kristoff
You can already watch a couple of pieces of a fanmade film on youtube. And I have to tell you, they did a great job! It would be so cool if we actually got a tv show for this one. I wouldn’t be surprised if this one shows up on a lot of lists today. It would make for a pretty brutal tv show but I’m already in love with it!
Which of these shows would you like to watch? And what book would you like to see adapted into a show, or a movie? This was a pretty difficult one, but where I normally have to work hard to find 10 books that fit, now I had to narrow it down! If I like a book(series) I want it adapted haha. So let’s hope we’ll at least get some of these.

Great list! For how popular The Raven Cycle and Throne of Glass are, I’m surprised they haven’t been adapted already. I couldn’t get into Throne of Glass when I tried to read it, but I feel like it’s the kind of story I could definitely watch with a tub of popcorn.
I still need to read all of those (embarrassed). Great choices!
I’m glad you decided to participate weekly!
The Raven Boys would make a great series.
