We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is holiday reads. We’re at the beginning of December and for me it’s time for everything Christmas. I loved reading holiday related books, so this was a fun topic for me. Let’s take a look at what I added to this week’s Top Ten Tuesday!
My New Crush Gave to Me – Shani Petroff I loved this Christmas story. There are so many fun holiday elements and I had a smile on my face with reading it. I actually readthis book in one sitting. A re-read is something I see happening in the near future.
The Afterlife of Holly Chase – Cynthia Hand Retelling have become really popular, so we can’t get by without A Christmas Carol retelling! I love this take on the story and even though it’s 400 pages long, I flew through this book.
Pride and Prejudice & Mistletoe – Melissa de la Cruz I haven’t actually read Pride & Prejudice, but I can’t pass up a Christmas story. I love the cover and I enjoyed reading it! I have to say it’s not my favorite holiday book, but it’s perfect for this time of year!
Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares – Rachel Cohn & David Levithan Both of these characters communicate in the red book of dares and we end up with a really sweet and cute holiday story! This one definitely gave me the warm and fuzzy feeling I’m looking for in holiday reads.
The Twelve Days of Dash & Lily – Rachel Cohn & David Levithan This is the sequel of the book I just talked about. Lily isn’t feeling Christmas this year and Dash tries to make it better. Yet again, another fun holiday read. I enjoyed the first one just a bit more, but this one isn’t bad at all!!
What Light – Jay Asher I would love to be a part of a family that owned a Christmas tree farm. That would make me very happy, haha. What Light is a fast and fun Christmas story. It’s been a few years since I read this one, so I need to re-read soon.
My True Love Gave to Me: Twelve Holiday Stories An anthology can be a hit or miss with me, but this one was a hit. Not all stories are as good as the others, but I enjoyed most of them. I actually read one once a day for twelve days and really enjoyed myself!
Let It Snow – John Green, Maureen Johnson & Lauren Myracle I actually read this one quite awhile ago, but I enjoyed these three stories that do end up connecting in the end. It’s actually a Netflix movie now and I still need to watch it!
To finish this list, I wanted to add two books that I still want and need to read!
Snow in Love – Melissa de la Cruz, Nic Stone, Amie Friedman & Kasie West Snow in Love is another anthology, but sounds really sweet. I have known about this one since it released, but just haven’t had the chance to read it. Hopefully this year!
10 Blind Dates – Ashley Elston I actually just got this book last week! On top of that, it’s the first read on my list for TisTheSeasonAThon. It sounds like just the book for me, so I should’ve already started it when this posts comes online!
I don’t think I’ve ever thought of the ten books for this post as fast as I did this time! What are your favorite holiday reads? Let me know in the comments and feel free to leave the links to your posts!
