How is it March already?!? That means it’s time to take a look at our February bookhaul. What books did we add to our collections? Were we able to control ourselves this month? Keep reading to find out!
This month I added six books to my collection! I bought five and received one of them from the author. I am actually proud of myself, because I know that I will be reading at least three of these in March! Let’s see what I got!
The Wicker King – K. Ancrum
I have heard a lot of good things about this book and it has an unique format as well! The sequel/companion novel is being released this month and the author was kind enough to provide ARCs for book bloggers. Even though they can be read separately, I want to read this one first!
On the Come Up – Angie Thomas
Okay, I need to be ashamed, because I haven’t read The Hate U Give yet! That author just released On the Come Up and I have heard this one is quite amazing as well. We are doing a group read this month in TBR & Beyond and I can’t wait to start this one!
A Cure So Dark and Lonely – Brigid Kemmerer
I love retellings and one based on Beauty and the Beast, I’m sold! The reviews I’ve seen have been really amazing for this one, so it’s time to find out what it’s like myself. Next month this will be the group read in TBR & Beyond! So this one is on my TBR for next month.
King of Scars – Leigh Bardugo
My preorder was late…again. This happens so often here. I don’t know what’s going on with where I order my books from. After finishing the Grisha trilogy in January, I’m really excited about King of Scars. The reviews have been a bit mixed, but I know I’m going to love it!
Slayer – Kiersten White
As a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan I knew I needed this book when it was announced. I will be going in with low expectations though, because nothing will beat the TV show!
The Pirate Princess – K.R. Martin
In another group I help out in (Fantasy Books & Movies) this author is doing a takeover in March. We will be reading her book and she was so sweet and sent me a signed copy of the first book! A pirate princess sounds like something I need to know more about!
I bought more books than I had intended this month but to be honest I don’t feel too bad about it haha. The total count of new books this month is 7 and I already read 4 of those. Let’s see what I got this month!
King of Scars – Leigh Bardugo
This first one you guys already saw in my unboxing of the Illumicrate special Saints and Scars box. I already read this gorgeous book and I’m so glad I loved it. My review is already up. I can’t wait until we get the next book in this world.
Deadly Class vol. 2&3 – Rick Remender & Wes Craig
I really liked volume 1 of Deadly Class and after seeing the first episode of the new tv show I couldn’t help myself and had to order the next two volumes. These graphic novels are pretty brutal and I love them a lot. Obviously I had to read them this month and that’s exactly what I did.
Heartstopper vol. 1 – Alice Oseman
This is such a cute cover! I saw someone order this through Kickstarter but I totally forgot to do that. So I ended up just getting it from Bookdepository this month. The characters featured in this one are apparently side characters in Alice’s other book Solitaire and I happen to own that one! So hopefully I will now pick that book up kinda soon. I read this one on Valentine’s Day and it was the perfect moment for it!
The Girl King – Mimi Yu
I was already intrigued by this story but when someone posted this edition I was sold! This cover is so much cooler than the other one and I’m super happy I got it. I already read a little bit of the book and I hope to continue soon.
A Curse so Dark and Lonely – Brigid Kemmerer
I own two contemporary books by this author but I haven’t read any of her work yet. However, so many people were raving about this book and I couldn’t help myself! I had to preorder it haha. Candyce and I plan on reading this one next month and I’m very excited.
Enchantée – Gita Trelease
This one came in right at the end of the month! This was another pre order, there was such a good price for it and I love this cover a lot more than the one that has been going around. I don’t think I will read this one super soon but I do hope to get to it this year, maybe I’ll bring it with me to France 😉
So these are the books we added to our collections in February! What books did you buy or receive this month? Make sure to let us know in the comments about the books we need to get our hands on!
