Another month over, so it’s time to take a look back at the previous month. Did we add any new books to our shelves? Or were we good? Keep on reading our April bookhaul to find out!
Candyce
In April I added 13 books to my shelves. I’ve already read a few of these and loved them! Others I definitely want to read very soon. It’s definitely an interesting month with the combination of books I added to my shelves.
The Conditions of Will – Jessa Hastings
The Conditions of Will is Jessa Hastings’ newest book that takes place in the same universe as Magnolia Parks, but a few years later I think? I love the drama in these books and the reviews I’ve seen so far, this one lives up to that.
Where Shadows Meet – Patrice Caldwell
This is actually March’s YA Fairyloot book that was sent later because it didn’t actually release until April 1st. I believe this is a sapphic vampire story and I’m here for it!
Fan Service – Rosie Danan
I read an eARC of Fan Service and really enjoyed it, so when I saw that this would be March’s Afterlight, I was really excited. I love how this edition turned out and the little hints of the show our main characters loved and were a part of.
Enchantra – Kaylie Smith
Phantasma was one of my favorite books last year, so I had to preorder Enchantra! In fact, I’ve already read this one and you’ll see what I thought in tomorrow’s wrap up. If you enjoy books with trials, secrets, devils, marriage of convenience, and a little bit of spice, I recommend this one.
Murder by Cheescake – Rachel Ekstrom Courage
Cozy mysteries are something I’ve been wanting to read more of, so when I saw Murder by Cheesecake I was intrigued. What also caught my eye is that this is a Golden Girls mystery. My grandmother and mother watched that show when I was younger and it brings back fond memories. I can definitely see this group of women trying to solve a mystery, haha.
Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping (On a Dead Man) Jesse Q. Sutanto
The first Vera Wong book was so much fun, so I have to see what Vera is going to get up to this time around. Vera has been bored since the man died in her shop and the murder was solved. So she gets hands on when she sees a woman upset about a missing friend.
Fearless – Lauren Roberts
So because of everything going on with tariffs, the publisher decided not to publish the paperback of Fearless in Europe. Which was really upsetting, because I have the first two books and the novella in paperback. To try and make that up to readers, the hardcover was a little cheaper leading up to release day. So to complete my set, I ordered the hardcover. Even though it’s frustrating my set won’t match now, I do think this edition is stunning.
Normal People – Sally Rooney
I wrote a recent post about wanting to read more literary fiction, so when I went to the bookstore this month, I picked up one of the books on that TBR. Normal People is one I’ve been curious about for a while. I’m trying to go into these books not knowing much, but I’m hoping to love it.
Blue Sisters – Coco Mellors
Blue Sisters is actually a book I’ve talked about a few times on the blog and put on a few TBRs. Three estranged sisters return home when their fourth sister passes away. I know this is going to be an emotional one. My copy is Blue Sisters is very floppy and I love it!
Wild and Wrangled – Lyla Sage
Cowboy romances are something I’ve come to love, and I’m sad that Wild and Wrangled is the final book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series. This romance was set up really well in Lost and Lassoed and I think I’ll actually be done with this one before this bookhaul comes online.
Story of My Life – Lucy Score
This is a book I never thought was going to get delivered. I ordered my copy before it released in March, but the edition with the pretty sprayed edges kept getting delayed. Story of My Life is a book I finally have on my shelves thought! I want to read this one in May.
Great Big Beautiful Life – Emily Henry
I was surprised when my copy of Great Big Beautiful Life arrived the weekend before its release day. Emily Henry is one of my favorite authors, so of course I had to preorder this one. I know our two main characters are authors, but that’s about it.
The Wind Weaver – Julie Johnson
The Wind Weaver is Fairyloot’s April romantasy book. This edition is stunning and I have to say the story sounds intriguing. I love stories that have ancient prophecies and seeing them play out.
Isabelle
It’s been a while, but I have gotten a couple of new books this month. Both physical copies and a couple of audiobooks. I already read some of them and I can’t wait to dive into the rest.
Kuroko’s Basketbal Omnibus vol. 1 & 2 – Tadatoshi Fujimaki
I was looking for a new sports manga series to dive in after finishing Haikyu. This is the one I’m trying, it was mentioned in the back of a couple of my Haikyu volumes so hopefully it will live up to my expectations.
SpyxFamily vol. 3 – 5 – Tatsuya Endo
I really enjoyed the first two volumes of this manga series and I wanted to read more of the series. It’s so much fun, the premise is pretty hilarious and I already love the characters. There are currently 14 volumes translated, so maybe I can catch up this year!
Audible
Jade War – Fonda Lee
I really liked Jade City, so when I had a couple of credits to spend I decided to get the sequel. The reviews for Jade War are even better than for Jade City so I have really high hopes.
Hell Bent – Leigh Bardugo
Another sequel I got with my credits. I love Leigh Bardugo and after waiting way too long to finally pick up Ninth House, I plan on reading the sequel a lot quicker. This was actually better than I thought it would be, there were so many mixed reviews but I really liked it.
Harrow the Ninth – Tamsyn Muir
The last sequel I got with my Audible credits. I was really shocked by the ending of Gideon the Ninth and I’m really excited for this sequel. To try and not spoil myself, I have stayed away from the synopsis of the story and I hope to go in blank.
So that’s our April bookhaul! Did you add any new books to your shelves? Or have you read any of these? Let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear from you.
