At the end of the year I didn’t really have time to take a close look at the Goodreads Choice Awards. That being said, when I did take a little look, I was surprised that I had barely read any of the nominees. So this year, I want to look at the different genres and make a little TBR and read some of these books.
Today I’m starting with fiction. Let’s take a look at the books I’m curious about and hope to read soon.
Blue Sisters – Coco Mellors
I have a feeling Blue Sisters is going to be an emotional one. Blue Sisters is one I should’ve already read because I have an eARC. Oops! Three estranged siblings return home after their fourth sister passes away. I wonder if this grief will bring them together or push them even further apart.
I Hope This Finds You Well – Natalie Sue
I Hope This Finds You Well caught my attention because our main character accidentally gains access to her colleagues’ private emails and uses this to save her own job. I have a feeling this will backfire, but I do love books that have emails.
Intermezzo – Sally Rooney
Sally Rooney has been on my list of authors to read for quite some time. I’m not sure if I’ll dive into Intermezzo first, but is one I’m intrigued by. Two grieving brothers and the people they love. That’s going to be interesting. I’m a little nervous though, because I know this author doesn’t use quotation marks.
The Wedding People – Alison Espach
In The Wedding People our main character is actually not a wedding guest. That’s all I really know about this one. That and this book is pretty emotional. I guess I can say that about a lot of books on this list, haha.
Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop – Hwang Bo-Reum
I’ve seen Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop quite a few times when watching bookish videos on YouTube. Our main character divorces her husband, moves to a quite residential neighborhood, and opens a bookstore. If the book is anything like this cover, I’m sure I’ll love it.
Here are five fiction nominees that I’m hoping to read soon. They all sound amazing, so hopefully I love them all. I’ll be back with my reviews when I finally read them all. Have you read any of these? Which one should I start with? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
