As we’ve mentioned before, one of our most important reading goals of is shrinking our physical TBR’s. Sometimes it’s hard to think of what books we still have or what subjects to read about. So we needed a way to keep track of this. 5 On My TBR is a way of keeping track. This is a meme hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Every week there’s a different prompt for five on my TBR.
This week’s topic is Need a BUDDY for this READ. I really like this topic, there are a ton of books I could use a buddy for haha. It can be so helpful to do a buddyread to actually pick up a book. Let’s see which 5 books I would like a buddyread for right away!
1. Empire of the Vampire – Jay Kristoff
This book is pretty big and also quite intimidating. I think it would really help to read this with a buddy and make a plan for how many pages to read each day. This sounds like a book I would really enjoy!
2. The Bone-Shard Daughter – Andrea Stewart
I have been wanting to read this one for a while now, but I don’t hear anyone talk about it anymore. It seems like a book I would rate 5 stars and I have really high hopes. But at this point I also think I need the push of a buddy to start it haha.
3. The Atlas Six – Olivie Blake
Another one I have been wanting to read for a bit! I hope this is one I’ll enjoy but I feel like it also might go the other way haha. And either way, I think it would really help to have a buddy to talk to while reading this one.
4. The Priory of the Orange Tree – Samantha Shannon
Talking about big books…. This one has over 800 pages so you can bet it’s intimidating. And from what I can tell, there is also a lot of worldbuilding. It would be so helpful to have a buddy to discuss this book with right away!
5. Jade City
I have heard so many great things about this one! The whole series has been released and I really want to read this one. I think it could be another one I would enjoy immensely. And having a buddy would help to simply pick it up.
These are 5 books I want to read badly and I think I could benefit from having a buddy haha. Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to do a buddyread for some of these soon! What kind of books do you like to buddyread? Let me know in the comments!
