Right before the summer break I got my favorite question ever from my coworker/friend. He asked me if I had any book recommendations. And of course I came in with a LONG list of books I thought he might enjoy haha. Another coworker also asked for the list and today I wanted to share which books of that list they have been reading. Let’s jump in!

Fourth Wing (& Iron Flame) – Rebecca Yarros

I was reading both of these before the summer and I loved being able to share them with my friends. They gave me updates throughout the books and loved them. One of them only bought Fourth Wing to take on his trip but he actually went to a bookstore and got Iron Flame because he wanted to continue right away. The other friend started reading Iron Flame on my ereader in Budapest after being stubborn and not bringing his copy of Iron Flame haha. All in all this recommendation was a succes for sure!

Nevernight – Jay Kristoff

This was the next book my coworker-friend picked up. He had some trouble getting into the story at first, it took him quite a while to be really interested in it. But in the end he did enjoy the story and the world! He didn’t love the footnotes but he does plan on picking up the next book in the series.

The Poppy War – R.F. Kuang

This is the book my friend is currently reading and he was hooked from the beginning! He immediately noticed that all my recommendations had (magical) schools in them haha. I did warn him about how gruesome the book is going to get, I’m really curious how he will react to it while reading. Hopefully this one will be just as big of a hit as Fourth Wing was!
