The start of a new month always means looking back at the previous one! As usual, we’re starting off with talking about any new books we added to our collections in June! So if you want to know if we got anything new and if so, what we did, keep on reading our June bookhaul!
Candyce
Last month I got my Kobo and I was very excited about it. I’ve already read a few books on it and I’m very happy with my purchase. My goal is to start reading more new releases as eBooks, but I still did add some new books to my collection. In June I added 17 books to my shelves. Thankfully I have already read some of these when this bookhaul comes online. Let’s see what I got.
Diary of a Dying Girl – Mallory Smith
So I’m not much of a non-fiction reader, but Diary of a Dying Girl caught my eye. This is a collection of diary entries written by Mallory who had cystic-fibrosis. After her death she wanted her diary entries shared. I know this is going to be an emotional read, but I’m intrigued.
How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying – Django Wexler
I’m a big fan of Groundhog Day stories and I don’t think I’ve ever read one like this. Our main character is tired of being defeated by the Dark Lord, so she decides she is going to become the Dark Lord herself. I have a feeling this is going to be a fun adventure.
Off to the Races – Elsie Silver
Even though I’ve only read Flawless by this author so far, but I know I want to read her entire backlist. Her indie books are slowly being traditionally published and Off to the Races is the first book in the Gold Rush Ranch series. I love this cover!
The Honey Witch – Sydney J. Shields
Look at this stunning cover! I have to be honest and say this was partially a cover buy. Thankfully the story also sounds really good. The Honey Witch is cursed with not being able to find true love, but I have a feeling our character is going to try and defy the curse.
The Rage of Dragons – Evan Winter
The Rage of Dragons is my June book club read, so when this haul comes online I should’ve already read this one. I’ve heard quite a few people say how much they love this series, so I’m excited to give it a go.
Sleeping Giants – Sylvain Neuvel
Sleeping Giants released in 2016, and I’ve heard amazing things about it, but just now picked it up. In a YouTube video I heard someone say that the audiobook has a full cast of narrators and it’s told through transcripts, etc. That got me even more curious, so it was time for me to buy the first book.
One Last Shot – Betty Cayouette
One Last Shot was May’s Afterlight book from Illumicrate. While I do enjoy this edition’s cover, I think I actually prefer the original cover just a bit more. There seems to be a marriage pact our main character agreed to, so I’m curious to see what happens.
The Wren in the Holly Library – K.A. Linde
Red Tower Books is really bringing it with all of their beautiful editions. The Wren in the Holly Library is a new fantasy romance. I’ve read some books by K.A. Linde before, so I have high hopes for this one.
Masters of Death – Olivie Blake
Even though I still need to read the sequel to The Atlas Six, I really want to read Masters of Death. A few of the members of my Discord book club want to read it as well, so I got it to nominate as a weekly read. So hopefully I’ve read this one before this bookhaul comes online.
Late Bloomer – Mazey Eddings
Late Bloomer is my June swoonalong book and I like to read these physically. This is a sapphic opposites attract romance and that’s all I really know honestly. I know I read the synopsis when I first heard about it and I believe one of our main characters wins the lottery. I’m excited to read this one.
A Condition Called Love Vol. 4 – Vol. 8 – Megumi Morino
I read volume 3 of this manga last month and decided I wanted to continue. When I was looking up to see how many volumes there were, and we’re now up to 8 translated volumes. I believe volume 9 releases in July, so I’m hoping to be caught up before it releases. Manga is great to have to read when you’re just not feeling great or tired and when you need something after a heavy book.
When the Moon Hatched – Sarah A. Parker
When the Moon Hatched is a book I’ve seen all over the place and I can’t help but be curious. This was a self-published book before being picked up by a traditional publisher. This UK edition was finally released and I need to make time to read it soon. I’ve been loving fantasy romances, so I can’t not have this one on my shelves.
Nectar of the Wicked – Ella Fields
Nectar of the Wicked is Fairyloot’s June romantasy book and it’s so pretty. All I know is that is has fae, haha. I’ll probably go into this one not knowing much.
The Darkness Within Us – Tricia Levenseller
I really enjoyed The Shadows Between Us and it was exciting when the author announced this companion novel. The Fairyloot edition is stunning and if the first line is anything compared to the rest of the story, this is going to be an interesting ride.
Isabelle
I just got my new Kindle and I’m incredibly happy with it, but that also meant I had to try and not buy any new books. It was mostly a succes haha, I did get just one new book and it’s one I really wanted to own as a physical book. Let’s take a look!
Diary of a Romantica vol. II: Lovers Remembered – Celia Martinez
Earlier this year I got Diary of a Romantica vol I and I absolutely adored it! I follow Celia on TikTok and her poetry hits me hard every single time. There was no way I didn’t need these on my shelves and I’m so happy I got this second volume. I already reviewed it, so you can check that out if you’re interested.
So that’s our bookhaul for this month! Have you read any of these? Or did you add any new exciting books to your shelves? Let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear from you.
