We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books with My Favorite Color on the Cover. My favorite color is red, and I definitely have some red books on my shelves! Let’s take a look at the beauties I found on my shelves, they’re all books I still need to read.
1. This Mortal Coil – Emily Suvada
I feel like this one has been on a ton of my lists haha. Hopefully I can actually pick this one up soonish. It does sound like a book I would enjoy so even though I’m not reading that much YA anymore I do hope this one is still to my liking.
2. Reign the Earth – A.C. Gaughen
I don’t think I’ve talked about this one that much, or at all. It sounds like any other YA fantasy to be honest, but it does have some elements I enjoy. At some point I would like to try this one and see if it’s for me.
3. A Thousand Perfect Notes – C.G. Drews
I used to read C.G. Drews blog Paperfury and loved the writing a lot. So obviously I had to get the debut novel right away. But somehow I never picked it up. I do still plan on doing so! And if i enjoy it, there are a lot more books to get now.
4. Strange Grace – Tessa Gratton
This is one I really want to read! I’ve read some great reviews and I think this sounds like a book I would highly enjoy. It might be a while, but I will definitely read this one at some point or another.
5. Bloodwitch – Susan Dennard
I hate that this is still on a TBR list haha. The first books in the series were great and I really want to keep on reading the series. I can read this one and book 4 right before we get the final book next year. So I guess I have until April next year haha.
6. Spellslinger – Sebastien de Castell
I haven’t heard that many people talk about this book or this series and that is such a shame. It sounds like a really enjoyable story and one I would like a lot. I will for sure pick this one up, hopefully soon.
7. Scythe – Neal Shusterman
While this is a YA novel, it’s also sci-fi and I have been craving more of those. I unfortunately haven’t read that many sci-fi stories lately so that craving is definitely still there! This might be one to pick up when I finally go down that sci-fi rabbit hole.
8. Heartless – Marissa Meyer
I think this will be a book I love. It’s a villain origin story and I have heard great things about it. I have a really pretty copy and I would love to read this one soonish.
9. His Majesty’s Dragon – Naomi Novik
I really like Naomi Novik’s work, she wrote some of my favorite books. So of course I would also love to read this earlier series by her. It has dragons, so I’m excited to read it!
10. Kings of the Wyld – Nicholas Eames
This one sounds like a lot of fun! And with some twists on tropes we see often. Candyce read this one and really liked it, so that is all I needed to know to be honest haha.
These are 10 books that have red on their covers. And they’re all books I still need to read from my shelves. Which book should I pick up first? Let me know in the comments down below!
I’ve read Spellslinger years ago, Scythe and This Mortal Coil right beofre the pandemic hit. I haven’t picked up the sequels for This Mortal Coil, it was a bit too close to home then. However, I guess I need to reread the first book before doing so now LOL.

Red is such a great colour for a book cover. So eye-catching!

Red is a great color choice, I’ve heard Scythe was good.
Red is one of my favorite colors as well. It’s so bright and cheery that it just makes me happy. It pops so well on book covers!
Happy TTT!
