Bookhaul | February 2024

So that’s a wrap on the second month of 2024! It seems that this year is going to fly by as well. Seeing how it’s the first of March, it’s time to talk about how everything went in February. Today we’re going to take a look at the new books we added to our shelves. Keep on reading for our bookhaul!

Candyce

I ended up adding 13 new books to my shelves in February! Out of these 13, I received 3 of them (2 Valentine’s Day gifts and 1 book for a book tour). Let’s take a look!

Bride – Ali Hazelwood

Ali Hazelwood has become an autobuy author to me! So as I’ve said quite a few times since learning about this book, I expect to love it. As I’m typing this, I’m over halfway through Bride and loving every minute of it.
At First Spite – Olivia Dade
Olivia Dade caught my attention with Spoiker Alert and I’ve read her books as she publishes them. At First Spite was one of my most anticipated reads of 2024 and I’m excited to have a special edition (Afterlight). I’ll hopefully read this one in March.
The Crimson Moth – Kristen Ciccarelli
For some reason this book got a different name in the UK. You may know The Crimson Moth as Heartless Hunter. I believe this story is about a witch and a witch hunter? It sounds amazing and this Fairyloot edition is absolutely stunning.
A Sign of Affection Vol. 3 & Vol. 4
For Valentine’s Day, the boyfriend and I decided to get each other something. He got me the next two volumes of A Sign of Affection. I’m really loving the anime and I loved the first two volumes of the manga as well. I highly recommend this one.
A Fate Inked In Blood – Danielle L. Jensen
A Fate Inked in Blood is a book I actually have an eARC of, but when I saw how stunning the first edition was going to be I had to pre-order. The start of a new romantasy based on Norse folklore sounds right up my alley.
The Sword of Kaigen – M.L. Wang
The Sword of Kaigen is March’s pick for my in person book club. I know nothing about the actual story, but I do know it’s huge (600+ pages). This is a book I’ve seen around and I’ve heard great things.
Murder at the Bookstore – Sue Minix
I don’t read many cozy mysteries, but it’s something I do enjoy. Also, how can I resist one that takes place in a bookstore and has a main character who is an author?
Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands – Heather Fawcett
Last year Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries took me by surprise when I read it during my time off of work in March. So I’m recreating this situation and picked up Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands to read during my time off the next two weeks.
Thieves’ Gambit – Kayvion Lewis
Besides buying this one for the stunning cover and pretty sprayed edges, the story sounds amazing. This has a competition and I love that in books. Thieves’ Gambit sounds like a great read.
Fangirl Down – Tessa Bailey
Tessa Bailey has been a pleasant surprise with her last few books, because they tend to be hit or miss. They’ve been more of a hit lately, so I’m excited about this Afterlight edition of Fangirl Down. It’s a golf romance. I can’t say I’ve read one of those before.
A Cursed Son – Day Leitao
A Cursed Son is a book I received for a blog tour in March. This book is stunning. I love the art at the beginning of the chapters as well as the character art at the beginning and the end. This is an enemies to lovers romantasy! Yes, please!
Hate – Tate James
The Madison Kate series was my introduction to darker romances and I loved it. I read them all two years ago as ebooks and was excited when Bloom announced they would be publishing them. I’m currently rereading this series, so the release came at a perfect time.

Isabelle

I got three new books this month, but I also read all of them so I’m really happy with that haha. After being a bit down I needed some good old retail therapy so of course I orded some books for myself. I got 2 graphic novels and 1 poetry collection.

Diary of a Romantica vol. 1: Lovers Forgotten – Celia Martinez

I got myself this gorgeous poetry collection and I’m so happy I got it. Celia Martinez is a genius with words and she encapsulates my feelings perfect. I adore her poetry so much and have saved so many of her videos on TikTok. The next one is already on my wishlist.

Fence vol. 6: Redemption – C.S. Pacat & Johanna the Mad

I was highly anticipation this release and I just had to get it. This is one of my favorite graphic novel series ever and the between releases is cruel haha. I am happy to have it on my shelves now!

Saga vol. 11 – Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples

One of my other favorite graphic novel series. Can’t believe I didn’t have this latest volume yet, at least now I have a little less of a wait until the next one ;). I love adding these to my collection!

So that’s our February bookhaul! Have you read any of these? Or did you add any new books to your shelves? Let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear from you.

  1. A lot of great-looking books in your haul. I want to pick up A Sign of Affection, it looks so good! I can’t decide whether to watch the anime first or read the manga first. I need to pick up the latest Saga volume! I should probably reread the series first since it’s been so long I don’t remember everything. I’ve been really enjoying books set in bookstores or libraries lately, so I should probably add Murder At The Bookstore to my TBR.
