It’s that time a month again where we take a look at our bookhauls from a year ago to see if we actually read what we add to our shelves. This is a goal we both really want to work on, so it’s always interesting and scary to see how we do, haha. This month we’re taking a look at our April 2022 bookhaul! Keep on reading for this month’s Looking Back at Our Bookhauls.
Candyce
So in April 2022 I added nine books to my shelves. When we posted our bookhaul I had already read two of the nine books, so let’s see if I’ve read more since then.
Layla – Colleen Hoover
Read
I read Layla last year and unfortunately this was the first Colleen Hoover book I didn’t enjoy. It started off really strong, but then kind of went off the deep end. I just couldn’t connect to this book or story.
Verity – Colleen Hoover
Unread
So I haven’t read Verity yet, because I’m still scared, haha. I’ve heard this book is pretty dark and intense. That being said since buying this book dark romance has been a genre I introduced myself to. I think I’m ready to give Verity a try.
This Woven Kingdom – Tahereh Mafi
Unread
A fantasy book with royalty is something I’m always up to reading. I have heard great things about This Woven Kingdom and the sequel is now available. It’s time for me to finally read this one!
You and Me on Vacation – Emily Henry
Unread
Emily Henry is an author I’ve loved everything by so far and I actually just finished Happy Place. You and Me on Vacation is now the only Emily Henry book I haven’t read. Seeing how I’ve loved everything else so far I need to read this one and see if the streak continues.
Delilah Green Doesn’t Care – Ashley Herring Blake
Read
So I read Delilah Green Doesn’t Care as an eARC and loved it so much I bought the physical copy. Since then I’ve read Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail and loved it as well. I’m anxiously awaiting the third book in this series to release later this year!
Dating Dr. Dil – Nisha Sharma
Read
Dating Dr. Dil was the other book I read the same month as buying it. I enjoy fake dating and I love seeing how the characters eventually end up catching real feelings. The sequel to this book releases in August. I have an eARC I hope to read soon.
Hotel Magnifique – Emily J. Taylor
Unread
Hotel Magnifique is one I’m sad I haven’t read yet. A friend read it in one day like I said in our bookhaul post. I really need to make time for this book about a hotel that travels to different places.
The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea – Axie Oh
Unread
I ended up not being able to squeeze this one in for the group read last year, but I still want to read The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea. It’s hard to find fantasy books that are standalones and the cover is giving me a lot of summer vibes. So I should pick it up as the weather gets warmer.
I Kissed Shara Wheeler – Casey McQuiston
Read
I Kissed Shara Wheeler was a lot different than the other two books I’ve read by this author, but I really enjoyed it. Something was solved pretty early on that I wasn’t expecting to happen that fast, but the story still continued strong. Our characters really learned a lot about themselves and even to stand up for what you believe in. I’m excited to see what Casey writes next.
End Result:
Read: 4/9 – 44.4%
TBR: 5/9 – 55.6%
Isabelle
Every time I think this is the month I’ve finally got something to look back on haha, but this is still not the month. It does give me time to take a look a little bit further ahead and make sure I have finished some of those!
So that’s this month’s Looking Back at Our Bookhaul! Have you read any of these books? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.
