Review| The Fine Print – Lauren Asher

As you know I’m a big romance fan. I’ve also now found BookTok and I’ve been watching more Booktube videos lately. This has all made my list of romance books I want to read increase a lot, haha. One that I saw everywhere was The Fine Print and it lived up to my expectations. Today I want to talk about this book and what I thought!

Rowan
I’m in the business of creating fairy tales.
Theme parks. Production companies. Five-star hotels.
Everything could be all mine if I renovated Dreamland.
My initial idea of hiring Zahra was good in theory, but then I kissed her.
Things spiraled out of control once I texted her using an alias.
By the time I realized where I went wrong, it was too late.
People like me don’t get happy endings.
Not when we’re destined to ruin them.

Zahra
After submitting a drunk proposal criticizing Dreamland’s most expensive ride, I should have been fired.
Instead, Rowan Kane offered me a dream job.
The catch? I had to work for the most difficult boss I’d ever met.
Rowan was rude and completely off-limits, but my heart didn’t care.
At least not until I discovered his secret.
It was time to teach the billionaire that money couldn’t fix everything.
Especially not us.

Review

When I heard about The Fine Print I was excited that it takes place in a Disneyland like setting. I had expectations when it came to the romance and story and I have to say Lauren Asher delivers. There is humor, swoony moments, amazing characters, steamy moments, and the writing made it almost impossible to put down.

Our main character Rowan seems like a jerk who thinks he should get whatever he wants. While he does in many cases there are things he has to fight for if he wants to make sure he and his brothers get the inheritance their grandfather left them. Rowan is arrogant and thinks way too much of himself, but when you dig deeper and learn more about him you can’t blame him. He’s put up a wall and isn’t prepared to break it down for anyone. Behind the walls there is a very caring man who would give the one he loves the world (or book signings that weren’t previously scheduled).

“I’ll never stop being greedy when it comes to Zahra. She will always be the exception to any rule and the one person I’m willing to screw the world over for. Because if she’s not happy, I’ll ruin whatever stole her smile, myself included.”

Zahra is a fun and sassy character. She doesn’t always believe she’s good enough and has gone through a lot in her past. I love how excited she gets about projects and wants to improve things so that literally everyone can enjoy things. Zahra has a hard of gold, but like Rowan has built up walls that aren’t easy to break down. But Zahra is also a lot stronger than she thinks and really can change the world in her own way!

Then there’s the romance side of this. From the moment Rowan and Zahra meet it’s fun with plenty of banter. I laughed out loud quite a few times, but also had my heart melting when we got to the more intimate moments where a lot was shared. The sparks flew off the pages and I loved seeing their relationship develop.

All in all, I really loved The Fine Print and I can’t wait for the next two books about Rowan’s brothers. Lauren Asher is definitely an author to keep an eye on! I have a feeling I’m going to have to take a look at her backlist.

The Fine Print is a book I really enjoyed and I’m anxiously awaiting the other two books in this trilogy. Terms and Conditions is the second book and releases at the end of February! I’m so excited. Have you read this one? Let me know if you have! If you haven’t are there any books you’ve discovered on Instagram, YouTube or TikTok lately that you loved? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.

  1. I liked the characters but the book was a tad too long for me. I’m excited for the second book though!

    1. I can understand you thought it was a bit too long. I agree about really wanting to read the second book.
