Lately I’ve been looking for something new to do on Wednesday. We have a few different posts, but I needed a new idea as well. I’ve been seeing WWW Wednesday posts for quite some time and decided I was going to do one every once in a while as well. We talk a little bit about what we’re reading or have read when we have a Royal Update, but don’t give any thoughts.
So it’s time for the first WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What did you recently finish reading?
Under the Whispering Door – TJ Klune This is actually a reread for me. I read Under the Whispering Door for the first time in October and was really impressed. It’s a group read for TBR and Beyond, so I decided to listen to the audio this time around. Once again I loved this book and TJ Klune’s writing really is amazing. Death is a big part of this book, so please be aware when picking it up.
If This Gets Out – Sophie Gonzales & Cale Dietrich As a lover of boy bands I knew this would be a book for me. Isabelle and I did a buddy read and I have to say it was hard to put this one down when I finished the day’s chapters. Ruben and Zach now have a special place in my heart and I honestly wouldn’t mind reading more about them or Angel and Jon.
What are you currently reading?
I’m someone who always has multiple books on the go, haha. So here is what I’m working on!
The Awakening – Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti So I’ve been on the fence about starting The Zodiac Academy. There have been many mixed reviews, but a friend of mine is reading this series and told me how much she’s loving this series. As I’m typing this I’m 40% in. Books that take place at any type of academy are honestly something I love. I’m not liking all of the characters, but the writing has me addicted.
House of Earth and Blood – Sarah J Maas With House of Sky and Breath releasing in about a month I’m starting to prepare. A friend and I are rereading House of Earth and Blood together. We read a few chapters each day. This is an 800 page book, so it’s definitely taking some time. Once again I’m loving this world. There were a lot of details I had forgotten, so I’m enjoying being back with these characters.
Only a Monster – Vanessa Len I was so excited to get an e-arc of Only a Monster, because it’s one of my most anticipated releases of 2022. Isabelle and I are doing a buddyread and I’m 25% in. This book starts off amazing right from the start and is pretty actionpacked. It’s interesting to have a book where the main character isn’t a hero. I’m excited to see where it goes.
The Hating Game – Sally Thorne This is another book I’ve been on the fence about. The Hating Game seems to be a book that you either love or hate. I read over half in one sitting. While I don’t always love the characters they’re definitely growing on me and I want to see how it ends. I’m hoping to get to see the movie soon.
The Case for Jamie – Brittany Cavallaro A friend and I are reading the Charlotte Holmes series together and have just started book three. The Case for Jamie starts off way differently than I was expecting and I really have no clue what’s going to happen with Jamie and Charlotte.
Hazel Bly and the Deep Blue Sea – Ashley Herring Blake I’ve enjoyed books by this author and they get really emotional. The audiobook is great so far and I’m curious to see how Hazel’s story plays out. There is definitely a lot of grief and anxiety she’s going through.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I’m not going to talk about all of these separately. These are a few books I’m hoping to pick up in the next few days/week. There are a few buddyreads and just some books I want to read myself. I’m going/hoping to read: Girls of Paper and Fire, Hate, All the Feels, Weather Girl, and Finlay Donovan is Killing It.
So this is what I’ve recently read, what I’m currently reading, and hope/think I’ll read soon. Have you read any of these? If you have, let me know what you thought in the comments! If not, what are you reading now? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
Welcome to the WWW Wednesday train!
Glad to meet another audio lover! I don’t know what I’d do without it. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!
