We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time. There are quite a few books I’d love to experience again for the first time. I was able to bring the list down to ten for today’s post!
The Trials of Morrigan Crow – Jessica Townsend
Nevermoor is a series that makes you all warm and fuzzy when you read it. There is a magical adeventure, found family and just amazing characters. I still need to read the third book, but I’m waiting a bit, because the release of book four is still far away. I would love to experience that magical feeling for the first time all over again.
The House in the Cerulean Sea – TJ Klune
I once heard someone describe The House in the Cerulean Sea as a book that leaves you with a hug. That’s definitely a correct description. This book hit me in all the feels and surprised me in such an amazing way. Another great story of found family and finding love. TJ Klune is an author I want to read everything by and have been working on his backlist.
Throne of Glass – Sarah J Maas
Without Throne of Glass this blog wouldn’t exist and I just loved this whole series. These books really made me attached to the characters and this world. It’s not always an easy read, but while reading I’ve always hoped the characters would get a happy ending. I still have to read the last book, but I would love to experience them all again for the first time.
The Guncle – Steven Rowley
The Guncle is a recent read and one I wanted to started all over again once I read the last page. This book is one for all the feels. There are so many amazing lessons about grief, moving on and just being who you are.
Red, White & Royal Blue – Casey McQuiston
Another book that really left me with a big smile on my face. I’ve already read this book twice and definitely see me reading it again and again in the future. Alex and Henry are so great together and I just loved everything about this story.
Today Tonight Tomorrow -Rachel Lynn Solomon
Today Tonight Tomorrow is the perfect example of enemies to lovers done right. Also, just a lot of miscommunication. This is definitely a story that left me happy and had me smiling quite a bit while reading.
Illuminae – Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
Illuminae is a roller coaster of emotions and is told in such an unique way. I’ve never read anything like it. This is definitely one I’d love to experience again for the first time with the audiobooks as well, because I hear they’re amazing.
Spoiler Alert – Olivia Dade
Spoiler Alert is definitely one of my favorite books! It has fanfiction, fandoms, a convention, a plus sized characters, and an amazing romance. Even though I know it’ll be amazing when I read it again, it just won’t beat the first experience.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue – V.E. Schwab
I can honestly say I’ve never read a book like The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Reading it for a second time will be amazing, because I’ll probably see things I didn’t see the first time around. That being said I don’t think anything will beat the experience of reading it the first time. I just can’t imagine not being able to be remembered by anyone.
Better Than the Movies – Lynn Painter
Another more recent read, but one that made me so happy. Better Than the Movies has a main charcter that loves rom-coms and I have to agree. Those are my favorite kind of movies to watch. Is it predictable? Yes. Is that bad? Not at all. Even though I knew how it would end it was just amazing getting there. I’d love to experience it all over again for the first time.
