Show Sunday | Favorite 2020 TV Shows Part 2

You all know I watch and love a ton of series so this was actually the hardest list to make out of all we did this past week. I thought long about my criteria and the best way to compile this list. The show had to have a season in 2020 and I had to have watched at least that season. So shows I’m not up to date with aren’t counting for this one. I also decided to not count shows I already featured in last years list with a season that was airing both in 2019 and 2020. So if the season ran from October through March and I listed it last year, I’m not adding it to this list. This was probably my longest introduction yet, so let’s just jump in!

15.Grey’s Anatomy / Station 19

I have been watching Grey’s Anatomy since the very beginning and I love the show with all my heart. This show had me bawling so many times already and Station 19 just added to that almost every episode. I love how they are both handling COVID-19 in their current seasons, and I just had to put them on the list even though I’ve been watching GA forever haha.

14. Elite

This is such an addictive binge watch show! While this last season wasn’t my favorite out of the three we have gotten so far I still enjoyed it a lot. And when I saw the announcement for the fourth season I was very happy!! I live for all this teen drama and can’t wait for a new mystery.

13. The Politician

When I first started watching this I could never have imagined it would be so great! I really like this weird, political show. The songs Ben Platt sings are some of my favorite scenes and I have been listening to them over and over and over. I recently learned they intend to wait for Ben to age a bit before they’ll shoot the third and final season and I’m so sad about that. Until then I’ll just have to listen to the songs some more 😉

12. Bridgerton

This was a very recent addition to the list haha. I started watching it with my mom right after Christmas and we finished it pretty quickly. This was better than I expected it to be! I actually really liked it and I hope they announce a second season soon. The music and the scenery were amazing and I liked a lot of the characters. Penelope and Eloise were my favorites and I can’t wait for their stories.

11. Roswell, New Mexico

I’ll admit, Michael Guerin is the main reason I’m watching this show haha. Not all of the characters are favorites in this one, but there are a lot I enjoy. I also quite like the story but I live for anything Michael related. The song from the last episode (I believe it was the last episode), Would You Come Home, has been on repeat for many times and is one of the best songs ever written for a show in my opinion.

10. Lincoln Rhyme: the Hunt for the Bone Collector

I was super excited for this one, I love Arielle Kebbel so I try to watch anything she is in. And I also have one book in the detective series this is based off so I knew I had to watch it. I personally loved this show a lot and I still hope we get another season about another killer Lincoln Rhyme can hunt. They did a great job with this one!

9. Criminal Minds

Can you believe this show has ended? I have been watching this for years and years! When I was still in high school I was watching this every Wednesday night on the Dutch television before I started watching every single episode online so I wouldn’t miss anything. I was so sad when they announced the final season but I will have fond memories forever. This is definitely a show I want to watch again, I just have to dedicate ‘a bit’ of time to it 😉

8. La Casa de Papel

Thinking about the last season (and especially the last episode) breaks my heart and I want to pretend it didn’t happen. I love this show so much, it’s epic and I love a good heist book, movie, show, story. The characters wiggled their way into my heart and the fact that not everyone will make it to the end drives me crazy. If more of my favorites die I’m going to be even more heartbroken haha.

7. Sex Education

This started off as a really funny show but it got so deep so fast! The last season was even deeper than the one before and I loved the storylines so much. Of course I can’t wait for my ship to sail but I’m sure it will happen at some point. The bus scene (you know if you watched it!) was so powerful and probably my favorite scene from the whole show.

6. Never Have I Ever

This was such a pleasant surprise! I was looking forward to the show but I never ever expected to love is as much as I did. This was another one I finished in no time and I can’t wait for the next season. I might rewatch it before then because it was just so good. Our main character is anything but likeable but I loved her so much and I cried during that last episode. And I don’t even know who to ship her with!

5. On My Block

I might have bingewatched the whole show in just a couple of days. When I started I wasn’t really sure what I was getting myself into. But oh my is this show good. I laughed, I cried, and I cheered. These characters are complex but so amazing! The third season left us in the worst way possible and I truly hope we get a fourth season.

4. Supernatural

I bawled my eyes out over that final episode! Every now and then I lost touch with this show but I always came back to my boys and their antics. I love them so much and I’m still heartbroken over some of the characters we lost of the years. Others I still can’t stand haha. I think this final season was epic and very well done. The last two episodes were all I was hoping for and I can’t wait to rewatch the whole show!

3. The 100

I’ve talked about the 100 so much on this blog haha. This year we got the very last season ever and I’m so sad it’s all over. I still remember watching the trailer for the first season and counting the days until I could watch the pilot. And now years later there will never be the anticipation for a new season again. I truly hope we get the prequel show but it won’t be the same since it won’t have my favorite characters. This last season wasn’t my favorite but I do think they did an amazing job and I loved the final scenes!

2. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

It was so hard putting this in the number two slot! This is truly one of my favorite shows of all time and I’m so sad it’s over. I haven’t watched the final episode yet because I just don’t want it to be over. This year we got both part 3 and part 4 and I rewatched everything as well. I love the story but I love the characters even more. They are all amazing and I want the best for all of them, which is part of the reason I haven’t watched the last episode… what if there’s no happy ending for some of them?!

1.9-1-1 / 9-1-1 Lone Star

This number one slot is solely earned by 9-1-1 by early on I decided to throw Lone Star in with the original haha. That way I wouldn’t lose a spot too it but I still got to mention it. Lone Star is a great new show and I really enjoy the diversity but the original 9-1-1 is outstanding! I love the show so much, it breaks my heart over and over again (especially the tsunami episodes…) and the characters have taken root in my heart. There are so many amazing characters in this show I have trouble picking a favorite (just kidding it’s totally Buck… or Eddie if you ask me tomorrow).

Honorable Mentions

This is my very extensive list of favorite 2020 tv shows haha. I had so much trouble compiling this and sticking to 15 (even with 9 honourable mentions haha). These shows are all amazing and I can’t wait to see what 2021 will bring us! What are some of your favourite tv shows of 2020? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that! But like with books, not every show is for everybody. Sabrina is clearly not the show for you 😉
