Bookish Item | End of the Year TBR

Merry Christmas! Just a couple of days left in 2020! What a year it has been. And while some people have been reading more than ever, I can’t really say the same haha. I’m still 5 books away from reaching my Goodreads reading goal so I want to try and read or even finish these books before the end of the year. Let’s take a look!

1.The Golden Compass – Philip Pullman

I should’ve finished this one last weekend for a group discussion and I feel bad I still haven’t! But I had a crazy busy week at work and I was just soooo tired. I do really want to finish reading it though. The tv show is high on my to-watch list and I can’t do that unless I’ve read the book haha.

2. Five Dark Fates – Kendare Blake

I’m pretty far into this one already. About halfway through I think? This is one of my favourite series and I’m pretty mad at myself for not finishing it yet. I was really loving where the story was going and I should just go ahead and see how it will actually end.

3. The Promised Neverland 6 (&7) – Kaiu Shirai

This is one of my favorite manga series and I have still have two unread volumes on my TBR. These are also super quick reads so it would be nice to finish both of them for the end of the year. I bought them early 2020 and I don’t want to take them into 2021 unread ;).

4. A Girl Called Shameless – Laura Steven

I love Laura Steven and the first book in this series is one of my favourite contemporary books ever. It’s unbelievable I still haven’t read this one even though I did start it! I need to just sit on the couch for a while and read this haha.

5. Death Note Black Edition Vol 3 – Tsugumi Ohba

And the last one is this amazing manga. I loved the first two volumes (or actually 4 if you read the regular editions) and was shocked by some of the twists. After this one I’m half way through the series and I have no clue where we are going!

These are the 5 or actually 6 books I still hope to read before the end of the year. Do you think I will reach my goal? If not, should I lower my goal for next year or should I just try again? And what will you be reading this last week of the year? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Good luck with reaching your goal! I think you can do it but then again please don’t stress too much about forcing yourself to read, hahah! I’ve heard such good things about The Promised Neverland. This week I’ll probably be finishing Godsgrave and maybe The Charmed Wife if I’m lucky.
