Today is Christmas Eve and I thought it would be fitting to post one more Christmas tag before it’s actually Christmas. I saw The Christmas Stocking Book Tag on Fi’s Bibliofiles blog and it looked like so much fun I decided to tag myself. This tag was originally created by Kate at Reading Through Infinity. Let’s check this tag out!
You get up on Christmas morning and your stocking is full! You take it down and start to unwrap the treats inside. The first thing you see is…
AN ORANGE!
WHICH BOOK IS REFRESHING AND VIBRANT, BOTH INSIDE AND OUT?
The House in the Cerulean Sea is beautiful, refreshing and vibrant on the inside and out. I heard so many people loving this book and finally read it myself. This is one I really wished I read earlier in the year. If you haven’t picked this one up yet I really think you should.
THE NEXT THING YOU SEE IS A BAG OF CHOCOLATE COINS. (YUM)
WHICH BOOK HAVE YOU RECENTLY BOUGHT THAT WAS EXPENSIVE, BUT TOTALLY WORTH THE HIGH PRICE?
I’ve only recently started collecting special editions for a couple of years now and mostly get these from Illumicrate. When they announced their Daughter of Smoke and Bone box and that they were publishing the whole trilogy with new covers I knew I needed these.
It was so worth the money as well, because this edition is stunning! I really need to sit down and read the last book.
YOU ALSO PULL OUT A BATH BOMB.
TELL US ABOUT A BOOK THAT HAD EXPLOSIVE ACTION SCENES.
Good Girl, Bad Blood is a book I just couldn’t put down. And you can say there were plenty of explosive action scenes. This book really got me loving thrillers and wanting more. I’ll also be anxiously awaiting the next book in this series.
NEXT IS A PACK OF PLAYING CARDS.
WHICH SERIES WON YOU OVER?
I’m actually someone who is terrible at keeping up with series, haha. I tend to read the first (and maybe second book) and forgot about them for awhile. This is something I want to get better at. One trilogy I finished and loved this year was The Lady Janies. My Calamity Jane was the final book and it released this year. I can’t wait for My Contrary Mary!
YOU ALSO GET A CANDLE.
WHICH CHARACTER IS A SYMBOL OF HOPE IN THEIR STORY?
I have to agree with Fiona and choose Amari for this one. Amari is an amazing character and stands back up when she’s pushed down. This trilogy is going to be amazing and I suggest you pick up Amari and the Night Brothers in January when it releases.
THERE ARE SOCKS INSIDE TOO.
IS THERE A BOOK THAT YOU THINK REALLY ENCOMPASSES ALL THE DISTINCTIVE TROPES OF ITS GENRE?
Today Tonight Tomorrow was everything I need in a contemporary and an enemies to lovers romance. I listened to the audiobook and couldn’t help but smile most of the time while listening. I still need to write my review, but I’ll definitely be adding the physical book to my shelf.
THERE’S ALSO A NOTEBOOK.
WHICH AUTHOR’S WRITING PROCESS DO YOU FIND MOST INTERESTING/INSPIRING?
I have the honor of being in Kelsey Kingsley’s ARC team and I enjoy the posts she makes in the group as she’s writing a book. Not only do we get teasers, but she also talks about how she’s writing and what songs are influencing everything or she’s thinking of while writing. It’s always interesting to get a little glimpse behind the scenes.
THERE’S ALSO A SMALL BEDSIDE CLOCK.
WHICH BOOK TOOK YOU A LONG TIME TO PICK UP BUT WAS WORTH IT IN THE END?
I think this could count towards so many books this year. Especially the older books I end up finally reading and always think to myself why did I wait so long to read this?!? One of those books this year was The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. Isabelle read it awhile ago and loved it. I finally picked it up for a buddyread with Ellie from Read to Ramble. We were both so shocked by how amazing and different this book was than we expected!
So that’s The Christmas Stocking Book Tag! What do you hope to find in your stocking tomorrow morning? Let me know in the comments. Also, I tag anyone who wants to do this tag. With Christmas being tomorrow it’s understandable that this may be more something to tackle again next year.
