Bookish Item | 2020 Most Anticipated; Did I Read Them? – Part 2

Last week Candyce posted about her 2020 most anticipated reads. At the start of the year we both did a TTT post for our most anticipated reads for the first half of the year. You’d expect we would have read them by now, right? So we thought it would be fun to look back at those posts and share how many books we read. And by fun I meant scary because we all know I probably failed big time haha. Let’s dive in!

The Love Hypothesis – Laura Steven

Not a great start haha, I haven’t read The Love Hypothesis yet. At the moment I am reading another Laura Steven book and after that I would love to get this one. I’ve read all her other books, including her MG novels under a different pen name. This is high on my wishlist!!

Heartstopper 3 – Alice Oseman

I love Heartstopper, it was one of my absolute favorite graphic novels I read in 2019. Pretty soon after the release date I got this third volume and I read it right away. This series is so incredibly cute! But it also deals with some serious topics and I loved it.

Hunting November – Adriana Mather

I was pleasantly surprised by Killing November and I really want to read Hunting November but I haven’t ordered the book yet. At the moment this is another one that is super high on my wishlist and I hope to read it soon.

The Hand on the Wall – Maureen Johnson

I listened to the audiobooks for all the books in this series, and I did the same for this third book. It’s the last book in the original series but there will be a fourth book as the start of a new storyline. While I did enjoy this book, I was a little bit disappointed by the reveal of everything. Still good, but not great so to say.

Come Tumbling Down – Seanan McGuire

I love the Wayward Children series so much! All of the books are either 4 or 5 stars and I can’t wait for the next one. Come Tumbling Down focused on my favourite character so of course I was exited for it. And it didn’t let me down! I loved this book and now I just need Christophers and Kade’s story.

Incendiary – Zoraida Cordova

I’m ashamed I haven’t read this one yet! It was pushed back a bit so I had all the time to read my eARC but I haven’t even started yet. I do plan on picking it up soonish. The other two books I read by Zoraida Cordova were really good and I have high hopes for this one.

The Damned – Renee Ahdieh

I’m actually in the middle of this one! It’s not going as fast as I would’ve liked but I think I will fly through it once I hit a certain point. For now I have to put it down in favor of other eARC’s all the time because of blog tours and stuff like that. However I do want to finish it soon!

House of Earth and Blood – Sarah J. Maas

Another one I’m in the middle of. And I also can’t believe I haven’t finished this yet, apart from the fact that it’s huge haha. I loved the chapters I read so far and I’m already heartbroken by the book. But I really want to continue. It lays right next to me at the moment and I hope I can pick it back up soon.

Chain of Gold – Cassandra Clare

Candyce and I plan on reading this one very soon! We want to do a buddyread in the coming months so I should be a 2020 read for us. Cassandra Clare keeps writing amazing stories in this world and I for one am still excited for all of here books haha.

My Calamity Jane – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows

Candyce and I read this as soon as it came out! This is the last Jane story from the Lady Janies and it was great. I really loved it and I was so happy to find out there will be a Mary trilogy. We are getting at least three more of these amazing stories. And I hope they’ll pick another name after that haha.

End Result:
Read: 4/10 – 40%
TBR: 4/10 – 40%
Currently┬áReading: 2/10 – 20%

I actually did a little better than I thought! It’s still crazy I haven’t read all of them as I was so excited about these releases. But you can bet I will be reading them soon. I hope they’re all as good as I think they might be. Have you read any of these? Did you enjoy them? Tell me about it in the comments!
