With the start of 2020 we’re back at the 20s. And I thought it would be the perfect time to do the Roaring ’20s Book Tag! This tag was created by monica kim, sarawithoutanh and emmmabooks when they were doing their Diviners readalong. I planned on picking up the Diviners but I kinda missed out on the readalong. With the final book coming out soon I do plan on reading it this year. For now, let’s get into the book tag!
A 2020 release you can’t wait for
My TTT last week was all about 2020 releases I’m super excited about! There are so many amazing books coming out this year and I’m excited for almost all of them haha. If I could only pick one, I think My Calamity Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows. The first two book in this series are simply amazing and I hope the last one will be equally amazing.
That’s the berries (That’s wonderful)
A new release you loved
A new release I read pretty recently is The Queen of Nothing. This is the third book in the Folk of the Air series by Holly Black and I loved it! I also loved Foul is Fair, which will be released in February. You can expect my review for that one this Saturday.
Now you’re on the trolley (Now you’re right)
A series that took a book or 2 to get good
The first series that comes to mind is the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. I didn’t like the first book that much but kept going and enjoyed the rest of the series more. Although I read book 5 last year and pretty much hated it unfortunately. Hopefully the last book will be good!
A book that put you in a reading slump
I don’t think I ever read a book that actually put me in a slump. But there are some books that took me forever to read! For example Night Film by Marisha Pessl and The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. Especially with Night Film I could only get through it with the audiobook.
Hotsy totsy (Attractive)
A book with a beautiful cover
Candyce and I did a post about the most beautiful covers of 2019! And I do own a couple of those books, so I have a ton of gorgeous covers on my shelves. One of my favorites though is my edition of Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. I got it around the time the movie released and I think it looks absolutely gorgeous!
Let’s blouse (Let’s get out of here)
A book you DNF’d
I hardly ever DNF books to be honest! There are times when I put a book down for a bit, but I usually do intend on coming back to it. I recently made a DNF shelf on Goodreads and I plan on being a bit easier on myself and just DNF books when I’m to enjoying them. So I recently officially DNF’ed The Tenth Girl and The Unbinding of Mary Reade.
A book that caused an epic book hangover
This doesn’t really happen to me either to be honest! I’m usually pretty good at picking up the next book as soon I finished one. So I’m not going to pick one for this last question haha.
So this was a fun and quick tag! I really enjoyed it and it makes me even more excited to finally pick up The Diviners. As soon as I’m done with this post I’m getting that book from my shelves and put it on my nightstand haha. Hopefully I will finally read it! Have you read the Diviners? Did you like it?
