Now that’s it’s July, I thought it would be a good time to check in on how my reading is going this year! At the end of last year, we wrote a post about our reading goals. Now it’s time for my 2019 Reading Goals Update. How am I doing so far? Let’s take a look!

Goodreads In my goals post, I wrote that I wanted to read 150 books. After that I ended up making my reading goal 200. At the moment I’m typing this, I’ve read 163 books and am almost done with 164. If I keep going at the pace I have been, I will complete my goal in August. This really surprises me and I can’t wait to see how far I get!

Reviews Writing a review for every book I’ve read isn’t something that I’ve completed yet, but I am getting a lot better. Last month, out of the 20 books I read only one doesn’t have a review written at this moment! That’s something I’m very proud of and hope to keep that up!

Backlist Books I wanted to read a total of 50 backlist books this year. Up until now I’ve read 10 backlist books. That’s more than I read in 2018, so I’m already impressed with myself, haha. On top of that, I’m currently reading two of my backlist books as we speak.

“Book Buying Ban” Like I said in my post, I’m not saying I can’t buy anything. We all know I’ll never listen to that. So far in 2019, I’ve purchased 22 books (5 from holiday money/gift cards) and received 10 books as presents (2 were from authors themselves). Out of these books, I’ve already finished 7 of them. I’m off to a good start.

Finish Series I’ve Started My goal was to finish 12 series I started reading before 2019. Looking back at what I’ve read so far, only two series have been completed that I started before this year. The ones I’ve finished were finished, because of the last book being published this year. I guess I have something to work at the rest of 2019!

Rereading Books I didn’t set an amount to re-read this year, but I haven’t let myself get to re-reading much this year. Looking back at my list of books, I’ve only done a re-read of Geekerella. As I’m typing this, I’m busy with my second re-read: White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Netgalley ARCs My goal this year is to get my feedback reate to 80% and have it stay there. I have been working at this goal and have gotten up to 63%. A lot of blog tours I participate in send the ARCs through Netgalley, so I’m actually happy with this number so far. I am determined to get to 80% before the end of the year.

There are definitely some goals I need to pay more attention to the rest of the year, but all in all, I’m happy with how everything is going. Did you set any reading goals this year? How are you doing so far?
