The de Vincent brothers are back—and so is the intrigue that surrounds them—in New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s sizzling new novel . . .

Nicolette Bresson never thought she’d return to the de Vincents’ bayou compound. It’s where her parents work, where Nikki grew up . . . and where she got her heart broken by Gabriel de Vincent himself. Yet here she is, filling in for her sick mother. Avoiding Gabe should be easy, especially when so much of Nikki’s time is spent trying not to be stabbed in the back by the malicious hangers-on who frequent the mansion. But escaping memories of Gabe, much less his smoking-hot presence, is harder than expected—especially since he seems determined to be in Nikki’s space as much as possible.

Gabriel spent years beating himself up over his last encounter with Nikki. He’d wanted her then, but for reasons that were bad for both of them. Things have now changed. Gabe sees more than a girl he’s known forever; he sees a smart, talented, and heartbreakingly beautiful woman . . . one who’s being stalked from the shadows. Now, Gabe will do anything to keep Nikki safe—and to stop the de Vincent curse from striking again.

Cover I actually like this cover better than Moonlight Sins. There is nothing like a guy in a uniform or suit, haha. Just like with Moonlight Sins, I love that the title is the only thing in color on the cover.

Plot Moonlight Seduction continues a little after Moonlight Sins ends, only we’re focused on Gabe now instead of Lucian. Gabe interested me in the first book and it’s clear he has his own history and things going on. In Moonlight Sins we learn that there are some surprises in his life. To be honest, I thought this would play a bigger part in the book. It takes awhile before that really comes forward. Nikki is the daughter of two of their employees. Normally not many poeople are allowed to hang around their house, but Nikki grew up there. There is some definite history between Nikki and Gabe and we get to learn about this as we read more. This book is better in my opinion than Moonlight Sins, but it’s still missing something. I can’t quite put my finger on it. I want to say more information about their family or maybe even see something not go their way in a bigger proportion? This one was fun because Nikki and Gabe had history, it wasn’t a staranger coming back to a new situation. Once again, this book was a nice and fast read. Jennifer knows how to write and I always fly through her books no matter what it is, haha. With book three being about Devlin, I am hoping there will be a bit more. He seems like the most dramatic and demanding brother, so I’m curious to see what his story will be like.

Characters Nikki just graduated college and is trying to figure out the next step in her life. When her mother gets sick, she does what most daughters will, she goes home to help out. She takes over her mother’s work at the de Vincent house. Nikki does have some adjusting to do, because she grew up in front of these brothers and her crush on Gabe had some consequences. Not only that, but taking orders from these brothers is weird. Nikki is quite feisty, so it’s pretty interesting. It’s fun watching her get frustrated with Gabe, but also loving every minute of it. Nikki is a hard worker and it was interesting to see her think about her life and what she wants.

Gabe is just as mysterious as Lucian was, but it’s clear after a few chapters that he’s pretty sensitive. There is more to him than meets the eye, but he won’t let everyone see that. Just like Lucian, he has been through a lot with the family and has a hard time trusting people. His life is a bit of a mess with his past coming back to haunt him in certain ways. Finding a way to have everything work can be frustrating. It’s nice to see that Gabe is also sensitive and sweet under his arrogant appearance.

Moonlight Seduction did improve compared to Moonlight Sins, but this still isn’t my favorite series by this author. I will definitely be reading the third book though! Has anybody read these yet? What did you think?
