June is almost over and once again it went by so quickly!! That means it’s time to check out the anticipated releases for July. So far every month this year has been packed with new releases. Time to see if July is going to continue this trend. What books are we looking forward to that will be releasing soon? As usual, if you click on the title of the book it will take you to the Goodreads page. Because we had so many posts yesterday already, you’re getting this Wishlist Wednesday on Thursday 😉
The Darkest Legacy – Alexandra Bracken (July 31st)
This is a book in a series that was already finished, but I do want to read them. They sound very interesting. Other people I know loved them, so I can’t wait to see what I think.
Sea Witch – Sarah Henning (July 31st)
Books with mermaids are something that always interest me and this one seems like a good addition. I have heard some good things from people who have already had a chance to read it. TBR & Beyond is doing a group read of this, so I will definitely be adding this to my collection.
Bright We Burn – Kiersten White (July 10th)
This is the third and last book of this trilogy. I have the first two books on my shelves and really need to read them, haha. Another beautiful cover though! I won’t be buying Bright We Burn right away though, because I have heard mixed reviews. Hopefully I will be one who loves them!
Heart of Thorns – Bree Barton (July 31st)
A girl who hunts demons, and those demons are women who can manipulate flesh, bones, breath and blood. How awesome does that sound? Sign me up! I honestly don’t want to read anything else from the synopsis and dive right in when I get my hands on this one.
Grace and Fury – Tracy Banghart (July 31st)
This feminist fantasy story is all about sisters and fighting oppression. I love reading about siblings and this sounds like an epic story.
The Lonliest Girl in the Universe – LaurenJames (July 3rd)
This sci-fi novel sounds heartbreaking, heartwarming and creepy at the same time. Definitely something I would love to read!
The Cheerleaders – Kara Thomas (July 31st)
Little Monsters was a favorite of mine this year, so I am very excited to read another book by this author!! She kept me guessing during the whole book, so I hope she does that again. The Cheerleaders sounds like a mystery that I want to try and solve.
Contagion – Erin Bowman (July 24th)
Another scifi novel! And it sounds like it’s a bit of a mystery/thriller one at that. I really don’t like to know too much about mysteries and thrillers before picking them up because it can easily spoil the read. So this is another one where I don’t want to know too much.
Fawkes – Nadine Brandes (July 10th)
A YA Guy Fawkes retelling? Sign me up! I’ve recently been craving Historical Fiction and I would love to read this one. This retelling of the Gunpowder plot sounds really intriguing.
Scream All Night – Derek Milman (July 24th)
YES! I’m super excited for this one! This dark comedy, contemporary story sounds amazing and I love the cover. It takes place at the set of a horror movie and honestly what more do you want?
Letting Go of Gravity – Meg Leder (July 17th)
I have a feeling this is going to be a very sad story, but beautiful. The cover is definitely gorgeous though, so Letting Go of Gravity is off to a good start. I can’t imagine what it’s like having a twin that gets sick, but you don’t. This is going to be an interesting story!
Notes From My Captivity – Kathy Parks (July 10th)
This sounds like so much more than your typical contemporary. Being held hostage has got to be so scary, especially when it’s something you don’t see coming. I love this cover as well. Notes From My Captivity should be an interesting read!
If Only – Jennifer Gilmore (July 31st)
I love that this contemporary novel is told in two different timelines. It’s about a teen pregnancy and I think this will be a heartbreaking story.
How We Learned to Lie – Meredith Miller (July 31st)
First things first, I love that cover! That alone makes me want to pick up this book. I’m honestly not even sure what this book is about or what turn it will take.
The Letting Go – Deborah Markus (July 3rd)
This thriller sounds really creepy and really intriguing. Emily lost everyone she ever cared about, and the killer has never been found. She’s sure it’s all her fault and I already feel a great plot twist coming!
Kiss of the Royal – Lindsey Duga (July 3rd)
At first I wasn’t sure if this was something for me, but the sypnosis really made me curious. On top of that, it has a gorgeous cover. A magic kiss is something that has been used in many stories, so I am curious to see if it’s in an unique way. I am on the blog tour, so you will be seeing my review next week! Keep an eye out if you want to know what I thought about this book!
The Year of Living Akwardly – Emma Chastain (July 3rd)
This is definitely a summer of contemporary books and I am loving it! High school is an akward time for everyone, so this seems like the perfect read. A character finding her way in high school!
Playing Her Secret Crush – Casey Griffin (July 2nd)
Another contemporary that I really want to read! This story sounds like it’s going to have a lot of funny moments and end with a happily ever after. Books like this during the summer are wonderful to read! I am also on the blog tour of this one, so keep an eye out for my review next week!
Spinning Silver – Naomi Novik (July 10th)
Uprooted is one of my absolute favorite books ever! Spinning Silver is set in the same world and that was actually the only thing I needed to know haha. It also has a really stunning cover that will match perfectly with Uprooted.
All These Beautiful Strangers – Elizabeth Klehfoth (July 10th)
Ever since reading People Like Us, I am really looking forward to mysteries or books with crimes. I think it’s my new thing, haha. This one sounds like the perfect book to continue with! Family secrets can definitely come back to haunt you and you may not want to know everything once you do!
Wrong in All the Right Ways – Tiffany Brownlee (July 17th)
The cover was the first thing that I noticed, look how gorgeous that is! Another story with a foster kid and finding romance in their foster home. It seems like there are more and more books lately that take on this subject and I really like that! Foster kids aren’t really something I have read a lot about.
Nyxia Unleashed – Scott Reintgen (July 17th)
Isabelle got me the first book for Christmas last year (and I have been bad and haven’t read it yet, haha). Just like the first book this has a gorgeous cover. I have heard a lot of good things, so I have a feeling that this one will definitely go on my list.
Sanctuary – Caryn Lix (July 24th)
A scifi where a prison guard in training gets taken hostage by superpowered, criminal teens in a space station and then has to team up with them against mysterious creatures. This sounds super creepy and super awesome!
Lovely, Dark and Deep – Justina Chen (July 31st)
This story sounds like the exact same as Midnight Sun, a book I still need to read but I love the trailer for it. I’m excited to read both and see where they differ.
It seems July is another book filled month! What releases are you looking forward to? Did we miss any we really need to know about?
