I’m a reader who doesn’t always enjoy short stories if they’re not part of a series I’m reading, but I’ll always make an exception for Christmas stories. If it’s Christmas in any way, I’m picking it up. And I have to say that I had a great time with The Twelve Loves of Christmas. Some stories were better than others and it’s clear that second chance romance was a big theme in these. I couldn’t wait, but I definitely can see the appeal for reading a story a day until Christmas. It was great that I got some stories from authors I love and authors I’ve never read from. After reading this book I would put up my Christmas tree if I could. Here is my opinion about three of the stories I loved:
Ho Ho Oh No – M.A. Wardell (5 stars)
It’s been so long since I loved a short story as much as Ho Ho Oh No. This one just was so heartwarming and it hit me in all the feels. Both of these characters needed the other in a certain way and their interactions just made me want to hug them. Also, this auhtor knows how to add a bit of spice in such a short story and make it work.
Twelve Seconds to Forever – Rebecca Jenshak (4.5 stars)
Rebecca Jenshak is an author I love when it comes to banter, tension, and chemistry. In this story she proves that she can do this just as well here as she does in a full length novel. Forced proximity, best friend’s brother, and the holiday season. Need I say more? Twelve Seconds to Forever is another one of these stories I’d love to get a longer book of!
A Solstice Kiss – Olivia Dade (4 stars)
Solstice in Sweden? Sounds perfect to me. I loved this meet cute and adventure these characters had this evening. It was interesting to see a character really think about her future, choose herself, and take chances.
