We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is a fall-themed freebie. I don’t have a lot coming to mind, so I thought I’d grab last week’s topic: books on my fall 2026 to read list. Here are some books I’d love to get to this season!

The Winners – Fredrik Backman

After reading Us Against You, I really want to finish this trilogy. I’ve really become invested in the characters of Beartown and I want to see how this story wraps up. The way this story is written really keeps me hooked. I love how we get to see multiple POVs and how the author brings them all together at the end.

The Poison Daughter – Sheila Masterson

This is a book I keep seeing everywhere and I’m so curious! Our main character has poisonous lips. She’s a vigilante that hunts abusive men at night by killing them with her kiss. Until it doesn’t work and the man just happens to be her betrothed. I have a feeling this is going to be a wild ride.

The Emperor’s Enemy – Jasmine Mas

I don’t know much about The Emperor’s Enemy but it looks so good! I know it’s a true enemies-to-lovers dark romance. This is going to be a duology and I have a feeling the cliffhanger is going to be very painful.

Taipei Story – R.F. Kuang

R.F. Kuang seems to keep switching genres when writing books and I love her writing, so I have to keep reading what she gives us. Taipei Story sounds very interesting. Family, roots, language, and other things can play a big part in our lives, so I’m curious about this character’s story.

Steelborn – Taylor J. LaRue

Steelborn is pitched as a slowburn enemies-to-lovers romantasy. I recently saw someone reading this in a reading vlog and she described it giving her Throne of Glass vibes. When I hear that, I’m sold and I don’t need to hear anything else.

Between Two Kings – Lindsay Straube

Kiss of the Basilisk was a great time! I really didn’t know what to expect when I started reading but I couldn’t put the book down. Yeah, it was really spicy, but so much more was happening. An amazing love story, politics, and such an interesting world. I need to read the sequel!

The Velvet Knife – Maureen Johnson

I don’t read a lot of mysteries but the Truly Devious series is one I’ve really enjoyed. The Velvet Knife is book six in this series and I can’t wait to see what Stevie and her friends get up to this time.

I’ve Got You – Cara Bastone

So I’ve Got You doesn’t release until March 2027, but I was very lucky to get an early copy of this book. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Cara Bastone so far and this one sounds good. Our main character who has sworn off children ends up taking care of her nephew who needs some time to figure things out. Add in a single dad landlord and I think we will have a great time.

A Stage Set for Villains – Shannon J. Spann

For some reason A Stage Set for Villains screams fall to me! There seems to be a traveling theater that has a lot going on. I have a feeling this is darker than it seems. Perfect book for a rainy day!

You, Again – Kate Goldbeck

If something screams fall, it’s this book! You, Again has been on my radar for a couple of years and after reading Daddy Issues by this author, I’m excited to read something else by her. This seems to take place over a span of a few years, but I’m excited to start the journey.
