We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
It’s been nice because I’ve had the last week and a half off of work. And we still have two weeks to go! We’ve done some fun things. The fiancé and I went to a new town to have lunch and explore a new bookstore. We had a great time, but unfortunately the bookstore didn’t have much stock. They were going to a festival and had most of their stuff ready for that. Then we had our monthly game night with friends and that’s always a good time.
On Monday I went out for a little lunch with my mother and did some shopping. The day started off rocky with trains that were giving us a hard time, but it ended up being a great day. I got a cute new mug. On Tuesday it was time for us to go see Evanescence. The fiancé and I decided to stay overnight because it wasn’t around the corner. The opening acts weren’t my favorite, but Evanescence gave us an amazing show!
And on Saturday I went to bookclub. None of us enjoyed our monthly book, but it was great to see everyone. Our next meeting is actually on Halloween!
Since my last Royal Update I’ve added more ARCs to TBR (12): Hallowed Bones (ALC), Unapologetic Love Story (ALC), East of Envy (ALC), Lightning & Thunder (ALC), Fangs (ALC), Reckless Secrets, With You Everywhere, Rules of Engagement, Between Yesterday & Tomorrow, The Words That Weave the Dark, In Concert, and Let’s Take It From the Top.
Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: My Roommate from Hell, A Summer of Stars, Fall I Want, A Condition Called Love Vol. 15, Station Eleven, Doomsdate, The Gilded Ones, and The Second Death of Locke.
I’m currently reading: The Winged Game, All In, Blood & Betrayals, and Once in a Timeline.
Up next I want to read: Be Still My Unbeating Heart, Deathbringer, and Shadow Reaper.
Last week during our movie night, we watched Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie. It was really good and interesting to see Michael J. Fox reflect on everything. I’m glad we watched it.
The fiancé and I started watching the Dutch edition of Taskmaster and are having a really good time. So our friends recommended the UK version and we’re almost done with season 2. It’s a great time!
Once again, I haven’t really been listening to a lot of music. On my way to book club last weekend, I did end up listening to Taylor Swift’s new songs!
