While reading A Dance of Lies I definitely see the Throne of Glass vibes. The world and characters were interesting and I actually just read this one last month. I’m hoping to pick up the sequel soon.
The Nightblood Prince – Molly X. Chang

The Nightblood Prince is one I’m honestly on the fence about. Up until now I’ve seen some pretty mixed reviews. That’s not something I let stop me, but it has just made me a bit more hesitant to pick it up.
The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy – Brigitte Knightley

I’m sad to say that I didn’t love The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy. This is a case of the humor not working for me in the story and I just needed more of the world?
The Ornithologist’s Field Guide to Love & The Geographer’s Map to Romance – India Holton

The Ornithologist’s Field Guide to Love took a second to grow on me, but once I really got into the story I had a great time. India Holton’s humor is so fitting in these stories and I love the little touch of romance. I’ll have to make time for The Geographer’s Map to Romance soon.
Collide & Spiral – Bal Khabra

Sports romances are something I love, so I was excited to read these books. Collide ended up just being okay for me. I’m not sure what it was, but the FMC kind of irritated me? That being said, I do still want to read the rest of the series.
Save the Date – Allison Raskin

The premise of this story sounded so fun! If only I knew it would annoy me the way it did. I get the idea of wanting to try and get your wedding that was supposed to happen, but it felt a bit desperate at times.
Zomromcom – Olivia Dade
Read
I had a great time reading Zomromcom. It was so fun seeing our main character slowly figuring out her neighbor is a vampire. I forgot this was getting a sequel, so I need to check that out.
The Nightingale – Kristin Hannah
Unread
A year later and Kristin Hannah is still an author I really want to read from! The Nightingale is one I know is going to break my heart and I just haven’t been ready for that yet, haha.
Face Off – Chelsea Curto
Read
Chelsea Curto is now officially one of my favorite authors! Face Off is now one of my all time favorite sports romances. I laughed and swooned and she knows how to write spicy scenes. I recently read book two and I’m grateful I have a few more to go before being caught up with this series.
Atmosphere – Taylor Jenkins Reid
Read
Taylor Jenkins Reid proved to me again why she’s one of my favorite authors with Atmosphere. Just the first chapter in this book made me aware that this book would hurt and it did!
Time of Your Life – Jessa Hastings

I have one more book to go until I’m caught up with the Magnolia Parks series. I’m actually hoping to read that in September, so then I can catch up with Jessa Hastings’ other books.
Holding the Reins & Training the Heart – Paisley Hope

Cowboy romances still do it for me and these two were so fun! I still have three more to go to complete the series. Paisley Hope is another favorite author of mine now!
Accomplice to the Villain – Hannah Nicole Maeher

If you’re looking for a silly, goofy time I really recommend the Assistant to the Villain series. Kingsley the frog steals the show and I love the plot twists these stories keep giving us. The fourth book just released and my book came in last week.
If Not for My Baby – Kate Golden
Read
Rockstar romances aren’t something I read often, but this one was good! I loved the tension and slowburn romance. The only thing I didn’t like was that we didn’t get a dual POV.
Wyatt – Jessica Peterson
Read
Another cowboy romance! I was clearly in a mood last year, haha. Wyatt is a friends to lovers romance and was a great time. I only wish these two characters would’ve talked sooner, haha. The drama dragged on a bit too long.
The Listeners – Maggie Stiefvater
Read
I’m a fan of magical realism, so I thought it was something really interesting to see in a historical fiction. I had a good time with The Listeners.
Love Arranged – Lauren Asher
Read
Billionaire romances still aren’t my favorite of the genre, but this whole series was a lot of fun. Fake dating is still my favorite trope, so how could I not love this book?
The Entanglement of Rival Wizards – Sara Raasch
Read
The Entanglement of Rival Wizards is cozy, spicy, and has the perfect found family in the story. Sara Raasch writes great books and I really need to finish the sequel to this series.
Wolf.e – Paisley Hope

We know I love Paisley Hope’s cowboy romances, so I guess it’s time for me to find out if I enjoy her dark romances as well! I believe this is a completed trilogy now, so a great time to start this book.
Beautiful Things – Emily Rath
Read
Historical romances aren’t my normal go to stories, but a why choose historical romance is what caught my eye! Also, the fact that the whole series follows the same characters had me intrigued. I still need to buy the second book because I had fun with Beautiful Things.
These Summer Storms – Sarah MacLean

I’ve actually put These Summer Storms on a few TBRs the last couple of months, but still haven’t picked it up. I really need to read it though. Maybe I’ll dedicate a week to literary fiction soon.
The Compound – Aisling Rawle

The Compound seemed to be everywhere when it released last year. I know this book seemed to be a love it or hate it one for a lot of people. All I can say is that this was one wild ride I just couldn’t put down. I’m glad I finally read it though because The Compound is a book I won’t forget anytime soon.

I was so excited for this one, the concept sounds really cool. You get to make a lot of choices and you jump back and forth through the book based on those choices. I already picked out a note book and got it ready for when I was going to read this book, hopefully soon!
Matchmaking For Psychopaths – Tasha Coryell

Another one I was really excited for! The title was what drew me in, but the synopsis got me to buy this one. I think this could be a great read and I might read this during the fall as I think that will fit the vibe very well.
Katabasis – R.F. Kuang

What a horrible score this time haha. I really liked all the R.F. Kuang books I’ve read so far and I’m surprised I haven’t picked this one up yet. It sounds like my kind of book and I hope to read it soon.
