Once again it’s time for the scariest post on our blog, haha. In the looking back at our bookhauls posts, we look back at the previous year and see if we actually read the books we haul. Today we’re taking a look at our July 2025 bookhaul. Let’s see how we did!
Candyce
In July 2025 I added 9 books to my shelves! Which is definitely one of my smaller 2025 bookhauls, so let’s see how much I actually read.

Broken by Daylight – Elizabeth Helen
Read
Last summer was the summer of me binging the first four books of this series. I was correct when I said that Broken by Daylight was going to end in cliffhanger. The fifth and sixth book are now out in the world. The seventh and final book releases soon and then I plan on reading the final three back to back.

Wicked & Wildflower – Sarah A. Bailey
Unread
Wicked & Wildflower is the second book in this series and I was collecting them, so that they all had matching sprayed edges. The next generation series after this has started to release. I really need to get started on this one!

Rose in Chains – Julie Soto
Read
Rose in Chains definitely started off pretty dark and I understand the mixed reviews. That being said, I had a great time. The sequel releases in November and I can’t wait to see how the story continues.

Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil – V.E. Schwab
Read
Of course I’ve read Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil. V.E. Schwab proved once again why she is one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed the different POVs and I was sad when it was over.

Heir of Storms – Lauryn Hamilton Murray
Unread
I still find it fascinating that our main character seems to have rain magic and was born into a family of fire wielders. Also, the fact that they compete for their throne and just don’t inherit it. So I really can’t tell you why I haven’t read Heir of Storms yet. The second book in the trilogy released two months ago. So I need to make time for this book.

The Thursday Murder Club – Richard Osman
Read
I bought a copy of this book so I could read The Thursday Murder Club before watching the Netflix adaptation. And I’m glad I did. The book and the movie were a great time. This is another series I need to read more of.

Maid for Each Other – Lynn Painter
Read
If Lynn Painter writes it, you know I’ll be reading it! Fake dating, banter, and just a good time is exactly how I’ll describe this book. I love how our FMC staying at the MMC’s house flips both of their worlds upside down. I read Maid for Each Other in one sitting.

Watch Your Back – Tate James
Unread
I still need to read Dear Reader before I can tackled Watch Your Back. And I bought the third and final book in this trilogy as well. It is one I want to binge soon. Tate James is known for her cliffhangers, so that’s the only way to read her books.

Anywhere You Go – Bridget Morrissey
Read
A summertime version of The Holiday is basically how I see Anywhere You Go! I had such a great time. Both characters and romances were really fun to read. Bridget Morrissey is definitely an auto-read/buy author for me.
End Result
Read: 6/9 – 66.7%
TBR: 3/9 – 33.3%
Isabelle
I didn’t get any new physical books in July 2025, I only spend one Audible credit on an audiobook. So that is what I’ll be taking about here!
Audible

We Are All Guilty Here – Karin Slaughter
Read
Karin Slaughter is one of my all time favorite authors and I read her mystery/thrillers usually the moment they release. This was the first book in a new series and I really enjoyed it! I recently read the second book in the series and I’m for sure hoping for another book.
End Result
Read: 1/1 – 100%
TBR: 0/1 – 0%
So that’s another looking back at our bookhauls! Have you read any of these? Or do you keep track to see if you read the books you add to your shelves? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
