We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books I HAD to Have Immediately but Still Haven’t Read. Candyce did a part 1 to this topic last week, you can read her post right here. I really like this topic and unfortunately I have way too many books for this one, so let’s jump in!

1. Apprentice to the Villain – Hannah Nicole Maehrer
I feel like I have talked a lot about this book since getting it haha. After adoring the first book in the series, I wanted to get the second one as soon as it released. And I did just that. I just didn’t read it haha. By now the third book has been released and the fourth book will be published in just a week’s time! It would be a great time to continue reading the story now and maybe I’ll do just that haha.

2. Empire of the Vampire – Jay Kristoff
I loved Jay Kristoff’s Nevernight and I was for sure interested in Empire of the Vampire. Since I hadn’t finished the Nevernight trilogy just yet, I wanted to do that before jumping into a new series by the same author. This book still sounds really cool, but it’s also huge and I’m simply scared to start it haha.

3. Blessed Monsters – Emily A. Duncan
I loved the first book in this series, was a bit disappointed by the second one and was really looking forward to the final book in the trilogy. If I remember correctly there was some discourse surrounding the author at the time and she hasn’t published anything since. So I think that might have been part of the reason why I didn’t pick this one up. I would like to finish the series at some point, but I also have forgotten a lot of details.

4. Hollowpox – Jessica Townsend
Nevermoor is such a fun MG series and I really enjoyed the first 2 books. I was highly anticipating this release but just never picked it up. The next book took 5 years to be released and while that doesn’t seem to be the end of the series, there isn’t a next book announced. So I’m not sure when I will read this one, but it might take me some time haha.

5. Bloodwitch – Susan Dennard
I have talked about this book so many times, it’s getting very embarrassing haha. After really enjoying the first 2 books in the series, I was so looking forward to this release and I planned on reading it right away. And since then I have been planning on reading this one many times. By now the whole series has been released and I truly hope I will read them soon.

6. Catwoman: Soulstealer – Sarah J. Maas
This is probably the only Sarah J. Maas book out there that I haven’t read yet. When it was announced I knew I had to get my hands on it right away as I’m a big fan of Sarah J. Maas. Unfortunately I still haven’t read this one haha. I think the reviews at the time weren’t very positive, so that might’ve put my off the book for a bit.

7. Spinning Silver – Naomi Novik
At the time Uprooted was one of my favorite books and I was super excited that Naomi Novik released a similar book. This one has gotten really high praise from reviewers I trust, so I’m not sure why I haven’t picked this one up yet. It’s been 8 years by now haha….

8. Quests for Glory – Soman Chainani
The School for Good and Evil is one of my favorite MG reads ever, I loved that series so so much. These characters are very dear to my heart! So of course I was immediately interested in the next series set in this world and with these characters.

9. Red Sister – Mark Lawrence
For a while everyone was raving about Red Sister, so obviously I had to have the book myself. I immediately ordered it and was really excited to read it. And I guess I still am haha. But it’s been 9 years, so I’m not sure when I will finally pick this one up haha.

10. Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor
Look at that cover! Can you blame me for wanting to own that book? I was waiting to read this until I finished Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone series. Which I finally did 2 years ago. So I guess it’s now time for me to start this one haha.
These were 10 books I just had to have right away and I was convinced I would read soon after getting them. Well…. it’s been up until 9 years for the oldest books so that clearly didn’t happen haha. Who knows when I’ll finally read them, but I do still want to! Which one should I start with if I picked one up now? Let me know down below!
