How are we already halfway through 2026? I feel like I blinked and it’s July. I still need to sit down and evaluate my reading the first six months of the year, but until then there are some things I really want to work on. My reading has changed a bit since some life events a few months ago, so I’m going with the flow. Here are a few of my bookish goals for the rest of the year!
I’ve already hit my goal of reading 100 books, so I’m not worried about the amount that I read. I would love to hit 300 books again, but I’m not going to pressure myself.
Mood Read More
I’ve already been mood reading a lot in 2026 and I’ve been loving it. The idea of “having” to read something really makes me not want to pick it up. So if I wake up and decide I want to read something, I’ll pick up that book.
Use My Spinner Wheel More
Last week I saw a spinner wheel app someone was using in a book club of mine and it sounded like fun. This will help me stick to my mood reading goal, but also keep some variety in my reading. I even have the option of my fiancé choosing what I read next.
Finish the Books I Start
I’m better at this than last year, but I can still be better. It’s also one of my spinner wheel options. I would also love to actually DNF a book if I’m not loving it. There are too many books out there to read something I’m not loving.
Continue Working on Series/Finish Series
If you’re a fantasy reader, you know that most of the time if you read a fantasy book it’s part of a series. So now I’m working on so many series! I would love to catch up with quite a few (there are quite a few sequels releasing or already out there on my shelves) and I only need to read one or two books to finish others.
Netgalley Ratio
This has been a goal of mine since we started the blog, but I’ve actually been trying this year. Which also means I’ve been receiving more widgets and being approved for more eARCs. When things were going on here in my personal life, I was also on Netgalley quite a bit and requested way too many books. I’m excited about them, so I need to read them! I love helping to promote authors! And there are so many eARcs on my Kindle I can still mood read them, haha.
So here are some of the goals I want to prioritize the rest of the year. What are some reading goals you’re focusing on until the end of the year? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
