Bookish Item | Books To Read During This Heatwave

Most of Europe is suffering through a heatwave at the moment and I for one am not built for this weather! I hate sweating when I’m not working out and working with 29 kids in a hot classroom is something else. My part of the building doesn’t have airconditioning so it is HOT haha. My concentration isn’t great either, so heavy books are not working for me at the moment. I figured it would be fun to make a small list of book I would recommend picking up with this kind of weather. So let’s jump in!

Automatic Noodle – Annalee Newitz

This is a novella and I think a shorter book works really well in this heat. I also loved this one, it was fun but it also had some great messaging when you look beyond the surface level. In general I would recommend this book, but since it’s only a 163 pages it could be a great beach read.

The Honeymoon – Shalini Boland

A nice thriller is something I always prefer to read in the summer! It’s another pretty short one with only 263 pages and it was a quick read for me. This is mostly set in Venice, so the setting is pretty summery in my opinion!

The Blonde Identity – Ally Carter

Nothing too special, just a fun and quick read. It’s 304 pages and a pretty easy read. The MC wakes up in Paris with no memory and people seem to be trying to kill her. It’s a bit of a spy novel and I had a lot of fun reading it!

Five Survive – Holly Jackson

Another mystery/thriller! This takes place during just one night and with 391 pages it’s a decent size. As I said, I love to read these kind of books when it’s warm. This is another one that’s pretty easy to digest in my opinion.

I honestly thought it would be easier to come up with a list of books to read during this heatwave haha. Personally I’m just rereading through audiobooks again haha. What are your go-to reads with this kind of weather? Let me know down below!
