Last week the second season of Running Point was released. Of course I had to watch it right away! Apparently I never wrote about the first season here, even though I loved it. So today seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally talk about this gem of a show!

Isla Gordon, overlooked her whole life, is appointed President of the LA Waves basketball team, a family business, when her brother enters rehab. She aims to prove she is the right choice despite skepticism.

Kate Hudson plays Isla Gordon in this sports comedy and I think she is perfect for the role. In general I’m a fan of Kate Hudson, so that was the main reason I started watching this show. I also just really like a show with this kind of vibe, surrounding a sports team and mostly comedic but with some heartfelt moments.

Season one was amazing, the concept is already great and I really enjoyed the plot we got. Isla is someone you want to root for and she did a great job. I detest her brother Cam, but the other brothers definitely grew on me. Isla’s best friend is also an integral part of the team and I love her!

Of course there is also some romance going on in this show, another wonderful plot line in my opinion. After the first season I kept trying to find another show with the same vibe and that was pretty difficult I have to say!

This second season had some good storylines, but also felt a bit all over the place if that makes sense. I liked most of what we saw, but I also would’ve liked it if some of it was a bit more drawn out.

Overall this second season was a solid one and I really enjoyed it. We also got a bit of a shock in the final scene and now I have to hope we’re getting a third season! I would definitely recommend this show to anyone who wants something fun and quick. We got interesting family dynamics, fun sports scenes and loveable characters.
