It’s the first of the month and that means it’s time to look back at last month. March is also our birthday month. Did that mean any extra books? Keep on reading this month’s bookhaul to find out!
Candyce
In March I added 29 books to my shelves. March was a very bookish month for me. Just during my bookstore challenge for my birthday, I added 12 books to my shelves. I also had some preorders, Fairyloot/Illumicrate books, a few gifts, and a few that just sounded amazing. I’ve already read five of these, so I’m off to a good start.

The Sun and the Starmaker – Rachel Griffin
Fairyloot is stepping up their game with their monthly editions. All I know is that The Sun and the Starmaker is a whimsical romantic fantasy. If the story is as good as how this edition looks, I’ll have a great time!

Weavingshaw – Heba Al-Wasity
Another stunning edition! I’ve also been hearing nothing but amazing things about Weavingshaw. Our main character can see the dead and makes a dangerous deal to save her brother’s life. This sounds like a perfect book for a rainy day.

Half City – Kate Golden
As a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I love the idea of a demon hunter as a main character. Also, this takes place at an academy! Half City seems to have a lot of elements I love in books. I also hear nothing but amazing things about this book.

Fallen Stars – Imani Erriu
Heavenly Bodies was a book I couldn’t put down and I was actually bad at myself for waiting so long to pick it up. So I had to order this edition of the second book. Fallen Stars also sounds amazing and the third book seems to be releasing later this year, so a perfect time to catch up.

Saltswept – Katalina Watt
I wasn’t aware of this book, but Saltswept sounds amazing. A story with a ragtag crew and a dangerous quest is something I can’t get enough of. Saltswept is the start of a duology and we don’t get many of those these days.

Dom-Com – Adriana Anders
Dom-Com is a book I actually had an eARC of and haven’t gotten to yet. That being said, it is one I’m excited to read. Our two main characters never expected to be office mates, so that will be interesting.

And Now, Back to You – B.K. Borison
First Time Caller was such a fun story, so again, I had to order the special edition of the sequel. This time our two main characters are two competing meteorologists! I have a feeling I’m going to have a great time.

Project Hail Mary – Andy Weir
Science fiction isn’t my go to genre, but I keep hearing nothing but amazing things about Project Hail Mary. So I decided I needed to add it to my shelves. I’ve actually read this one and I had a great time! I never expected to love it as much as I did.
Maybe in Another Life – Taylor Jenkins Reid
Maybe in Another Life was the only book written by Taylor Jenkins Reid that I had yet to read. I’ve enjoyed all of her books (some more than others) and I loved the concept of Maybe in Another Life. I’m actually sad I have to wait for a new release to have something to read again by this author.
Gleanings – Neal Shusterman
After rereading Scythe last month, I wanted to make sure my series was complete. Gleanings has a few short stories that take place in this world. I’m normally not a big fan of them, but a friend said they are good and worth the read.
Apparently, Sir Cameron Needs to Die – Greer Stothers
This book is giving me Assistant to the Villain vibes and I’m here for it. I only learned about this book when a friend was reading it and loved it. This edition has pretty sprayed edges and I’m hoping to have a good time.
Bat Eater – Kylie Lee Baker
Horror isn’t a genre I gravitate towards at all, but Bat Eater sounds like one I could love. I’ve heard some amazing things about this book and I’ve enjoyed a book written by this author before.
Intermezzo – Sally Rooney
Sally Rooney is a well loved author and I read Normal People last year. It was an okay book, but it didn’t blow me away. I also don’t know if I’ll ever get used to her not using quotation marks. That being said, Intermezzo is one that sounds interesting and has caught my eye. So I’m going to give this author another chance.
Love Me Tomorrow – Emiko Jean
Our main character starts getting love letters from the love of her life, but they’re from the future. I love this concept and I’m excited to see if/how she figures out who the love of her life is.
The Wedding People – Alison Espach
The Wedding People is a book I saw everywhere the year it released. It’s not a light hearted book from what I’ve understood, but it has caught my eye.
Two Can Play – Ali Hazelwood
Ali Hazelwood is one of my autobuy authors and Two Can Play was only available as an audiobook for a while. It finally released physically, so I had to pick it up. I have read this one already and my only complaint is that I wanted it to be longer, haha.
Strange Buildings – Uketsu
Again, horror isn’t my go to genre, but I love the way this author writes their books. I now have three on my shelves, so I’ll have to binge them and see what I think.
Lessons in Forgiving – Selina Mae
I have been seeing these books everywhere and had to grab it. I’m definitely in a sports romance era. I just didn’t realize that this was the second book in the series. Oops! I’ll have to pick up the first book soon.
Queen of Faces – Petra Lord
Queen of Faces is a book I’m so curious about. We have a magical school and a main character who must become a mercenary when her cover is blown I believe. I’m hoping to love this one as much as I’m expecting to.

Broken Harbor – Catherine Cowles
I’m loving the Sparrow Halls series, so I decided to start collecting them for my shelf. Broken Harbor is the third book in the series and I’ll be reading it soon. This is another fictional family/town I wish was real.

Brimstone – Callie Hart
Quicksilver was such a hyped book and I was afraid to read it because of that. I ended up loving it though, so I decided to put Brimstone on my birthday wishlist. I’ve been loving big books lately, so I’ll be tackling this one soon.

Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales – Heather Fawcett
The first two Emily Wilde books were so cozy and I had a great time. Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales is the third and final book. I’m sad this story is going to be over.

Across the Vanishing Sky – Catherine Cowles
Catherine Cowles is now an autobuy author for me and this edition of Across the Vanishing Sky is just so pretty. Her writing really is addicting. I just can’t put them down.

The Wings That Bind – Briar Boleyn
If I’m honest, I never expected to love the Bloodwing Academy books, but I couldn’t put them down. So when I finished The Bond That Burns and couldn’t stop thinking about it, I ordered The Wings That Bind. I have good timing though, because this released in March.

The Second Death of Locke – V.L. Bovalino
March seems to be the month of books I keep seeing everywhere. The Second Death of Locke is another one of those books I’ve heard nothing but good things about. I’ve read a few chapters so far and I have a feeling I’m going to love this story.

Love Song – Elle Kennedy
The Off Campus series was my introduction to sports romance and I loved the Campus Diaries. So of course, I had to get Love Song when it released. I’m already looking forward to the group chats I know will be in this book.

The Night We Met – Ali Hazelwood
I’ve loved the books I’ve read by Ali Hazelwood. The Night We Met sounds good, but I’m also a little worried about the trope in this story. I have read amazing reviews so far about this one, so I’m going to give it a try.

Bourbon & Proof – Victoria Wilder
The Bourbon Boys trilogy is an amazing one and Bourbon & Proof was my favorite! Of course, I had to add all three of the deluxe traditionally published editions to my shelves. They all look stunning together.

Lady of Ashes – Melissa K. Roehrich
I haven’t started this series yet, but I have a feeling I’m going to want to binge this one, so I had this on my birthday wishlist for my fiancĂ©’s family. This is a series recommended for fans of Throne of Glass, so I hope it doesn’t disappoint.
Isabelle
I didn’t get any books for my birthday! So this is another month with no physical books unfortunately. I did get 2 audiobooks with the credits I had saved up, so let’s take a look at those.
Audible

Dune & Dune Messiah – Frank Herbert
I already talked about these a lot lately haha. After seeing the trailer for Dune: Part 3 I have been back into this series. I watched the first movie and have been listening to the first book. Looks like I’m about halfway through it and after finishing I will dive into the next book!
So that’s our March bookhaul! Have you read any of these? Or what did you add to your shelves in March? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
