Wishlist Wednesday | Most Anticipated April 2026 Releases

It’s already the end of the month again! 2026 is already flying by, because it’s time to talk about our most anticipated April releases. March was a busy release month, so let’s take a look at what’s instore for next month!

The Book Witch – Meg Shaffer (April 7th)

She can hop into any novel, she just can’t stay there. Sign me up! This is about a witch who jumps in and out of novels to try and fix alterations. That is honestly all I need to know! This sounds amazing and I’m really curious about this one.

On Thin Ice – Olivia Belle (April 7th)

I’m a big fan of books with competitions and an actor hoping to fix his bad boy reputation sounds like the perfect candidate for something like that. Add in a professional figure skater and a grumpy/sunshine romance, and I’m sold!

The Escape Game – Marissa Meyer & Tamara Moss (April 7th)

A YA murder mystery set at an escape-room themed game show, sounds really interesting. This can either be great or a big let down haha. I have really enjoyed Marissa Meyer’s books in the past, so I have good hopes for this one.

American Fantasy – Emma Straub (April 7th)

I love that the summary describes this as a book about what happens when your teenage fantasy comes true after you’re already an adult. As someone who loved boy bands as a teenager, I know this book is going to be right up my alley! Spending time on a cruise with my favorite boy band? I’d still give that a try now!

Rites of the Starling – Devney Perry (April 7th)

Shield of Sparrows was a very hyped romantasy book last year and I ended up loving that book! The ending left me wanting more and it’s almost time to read the sequel. I can’t really talk about what it’s about because it is a second book.

The Ending Writes Itself – Evelyn Clarke (April 7th)

One half of the writer duo Evelyn Clarke is V.E. Schwab, so of course I’m excited about this release. It’s a murder mystery and I’m really curious to see that play out. This is like a locked-room mystery, but set on a private island. I have high expectations for this one!

Happy Ending – Chloe Liese (April 14th)

Chloe Liese is the author of the Bergman Brothers series and that’s one of my favorite romance series ever! Happy Ending has fake dating and a best friend romance. If this is anything like the other books I’ve read by this author and I know I’m going to have a good time.

The Thorn Queen – Sasha Peyton Smith (April 14th)

Same as with Rites of the Starling, The Thorn Queen is a sequel I’m excited about. The Rose Bargain seemed to start out like a typical fantasy romance and the ending took a turn I wasn’t expecting at all! I’m excited to see how it all plays out.

Stranger Things Have Happened – Kasie West (April 14th)

Fake dating to prove that a therapist can tell the difference between real and fake love. Sounds interesting enough! I have enjoyed Kasie West’s cute YA romances and I’m excited to see what she does with an adult romcom.

Mad Mabel – Sally Hepworth (April 21st)

This part of the synopsis sold me on this story right away; when it comes to murder, no one ever suspects little girls or old ladies. And Elsie Mabel Fitzpatrick, once a little girl and now an old lady, has a strange history of people in her life coming to a foul end. I’m really excited about this one, we don’t often get older main characters.

Fragile Hopes – Lisina Coney (April 26th)

Fragile Hopes is a book I keep seeing on Instagram and readers seem to be loving their early copies. This is a smalltown firefighter romance and I’m excited to get my hands on it. Age gap isn’t a trope I read often, but sounds like a book that’s right up my alley.

We Burned So Bright – TJ Klune (April 28th)

This follows an older queer couple on a road trip as the world is about to end in one month. I think this one is going to be both heartwarming and heartbreaking at once. Get your tissues ready because there is no way we’re making it through without tears haha.

Here are some of the releases we’re really excited about! Do we have any in common? Or are we missing any books you think we should know about? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
