I really enjoyed the first season of Hijack, so of course I was excited for this second season. Apple TV isn’t my go to streaming service, but I opened it and was immediately reminded of Hijack. So I jumped right in and binged it in about three days. Today I want to share my thoughts on this second season, so let’s jump in!
Sam Nelson, a master negotiator, faces a series of life-or-death situations where his skills of persuasion are his only means of survival.
The first season was about a hijacked plane and had some amazing twists. I will say that I had forgotten most of the storyline, but there was a good recap to get you back up to speed.
This second season is about the hijacking of a train and it takes place in Berlin. The season felt a bit slower than the first one, but I personally enjoyed it a lot. I liked that we got a new setting, but with a plot that was connected to the first season. There were some fun plot twists, although they weren’t as mind blowing as the twists in the first season.
From online reviews I gathered that not everyone loved this second season, but for me it was worth it. Especially Otto was wonderful and the star of the season! I would like another season, but I would also be fine if this is where the show ends.
Idris Elba is always a pleasure to watch and that wasn’t any different here. Just for him I would already recommend the show. Yes, there are some plot points were you shouldn’t think to hard about wether it’s realistic, but overall it’s a fun and suspenseful show I would recommend!
