WWW Wednesday #106

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

Dire Bound – Sable Sorenson

Dire Bound is a pretty hyped book that caught my eye. I decided to do this book for my swoonalong read. This is a big book and I had a great time for most of it. Near the end the main character started annoying me and I found it to be a bit predictable. I am curious enough to continue with the series.

We Contain Multitudes – Sarah Henstra

I had this book on my shelves for a few years and I finally picked it up because someone nominated it to be a group read in my Discord book club. The fact that this book was written in letters caught my eye. Both of these characters deserve big hugs for everything they go through. This book didn’t work for me though. The letters were literally just them telling each other what has happened or what they talked about. I would’ve loved this more if it was a “normal” novel.

What are you currently reading?

Her Majesty’s Royal Coven – Juno Dawson

At the moment, I’m about 30% into Her Majesty’s Royal Coven and I’m really not sure what I’m feeling about this book. If I’m honest, it doesn’t feel like a fantasy book and I don’t like any of the characters. At the moment, I’m still just curious enough to continue. I’ll be surprised if I want to continue the series though.

Wild Reverence – Rebecca Ross

After loving The Letters of Enchantment duology, it’s been time for me to pick up Wild Reverence. A friend and I are buddyreading this one and it’s off to a great start. The writing is beautiful and the first page had me hooked. I’m curious to see where this story goes.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Only Friends – Lydia San Andres

I have an eARC of Only Friends and this book released last month, so I really need to catch up. I love the idea of two characters teaming up to make regency era thirst trap content for online fans. This isn’t something I’ve ever read before and I’m intrigued. I have a feeling these characters are going to end up falling for each other. That’s the best part in my opinion.

Project Hail Mary – Andy Weir

Science fiction isn’t my go to genre, but Project Hail Mary is one that I’ve been really curious about. I keep hearing that the story is amazing and that the audiobook is great. It’s been turned into a film adaptation, so I want to read before watching. I’m hoping I love this book.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
