We’re heading to the end of the year and that means it’s time to start thinking about my 2026 reading goals. What are some bookish things I want to work on? Keep on reading to find out
Read 100 Books
My Goodreads goal is always 100 books. I can easily hit this goal. I mean this year, I’ve read almost 300 books. Reading needs to stay fun for me, so I use this goal just to see how far I get.
Netgalley Feedback Ratio
So in all of the years we’ve been blogging, I keep saying I want to get my ratio as high as possible. My feedback ratio is lower now than it was on January 1st. I will say that I have been working on this. This year I’ve been approved for 168 books (requests I made myself and widgets received) and I’ve reviewed 69 books so far. I guess for 2026, I really just want to keep up with upcoming releases. See if I can work ahead.
Make My Physical Books the Priority/Buy Less
These last few months I’ve really been loving curling up with physical books. And in all honesty, my backlist of books is out of control, haha. I’m not going on a complete book buying ban, but I will be more concious of what I buy. I’ll keep getting my Fairyloot and Illumicrate books. If I buy a book, I want it to be to read right away. Not have it sit on my shelves for years. I’m currently reading a book that I’ve had for over 8 years.
Create the Library of My Dreams
Earlier this year, while I was watching Booksandlala, I had to agree with her take on books. Anything that isn’t a 4 or 5 star read doesn’t stay on her shelves. I have to agree. My shelves should only be filled with books I loved. I started unhauling anything 3 stars and under. I’ll keep doing this in 2026!
Read 3 Fairyloot Books a Month
I have the triple Fairyloot subscription and get the young adult, adult, and romantasy book every month. So my goal is to read them the month after I get them. Selling them is easier if they’re pretty new.
Be Better About Binging Series (If Possible)
I love reading series and if you read fantasy, that’s pretty much all you get. That being said, I’m bad at finishing series. Even when I love them. Of course, I cannot binge a series if I read them as they release, but I can keep up to date. If a series is complete or already has multiple books, I want to try and read them back to back. I’ll remember more and why not continue with something I’m loving?
Keep Reading More Big Books (500+ pages)
In 2025 I’ve read more big books than I ever have since tracking my reading. Yeah, it takes longer to finish a big book, but I’ve loved the big books I’ve read this year.
Finish Books I’m Loving Before Getting Distracted
I’m still terrible with wanting to read all books at once. This leads to me having a ton of books started and on currently reading. I need to get better at just finishing something when I’m loving it. If I wait months, I won’t remember things as well. Also, I think my amount of read books would be a lot higher if you count the pages I’ve read in those books.
So here are my 2026 reading goals! Do we have any in common? Or are you going to have goals next year? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!

Fab goals!
These are great goals! I have some similar ones as you too!
I REALLY need to read more books that I own – I’ve been buying a lot of them the last year or two and not reading enough XD
