I’m really becoming a broken record, but it’s crazy how fast 2025 is going! Next week is the beginning of August! Because of that it’s time to talk about my August TBR. I will say I did a very bad job with my July TBR, haha. These are still always fun to create though, so let’s take a look at the books I’m hoping to read in August!
Group Reads

Belladonna – Adalyn Grace
My series slayers group is starting our third and final series for 2025! Belladonna is a perfect series as we’re heading into the cozier months. The first book is a reread for me, but I loved it! I’m wondering if I’ll be able to see more details than the first time around.

Atmosphere – Taylor Jenkins Reid
Atmosphere is Taylor Jenkins Reid’s newest book and I’m so excited to finally sit down with this one. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things so far! This takes place against the backdrop of the 1980s Space Shuttle program. I have a feeling this is going to hit me in all of the feels.

The Listeners – Maggie Stiefvater
Maggie Stiefvater wrote The Raven Boys and I loved that series, so I’m interested to see what she does with her adult debut. The Listeners is a mix of historical fiction and magical realism and that’s all I know! I plan on going in blind.
eARCs

Heart Strings – Ivy Fairbanks
Ivy Fairbanks wrote Morbidly Yours, and that was a book I loved. I read it in one sitting. Heart Strings is a second chance romance and I’m here for it. Look at this cute cover!

Fall I Want – Lyra Parish
If I’m honest, I’m ready for all of the cozy vibes of autumn. I miss curling up in a hoodie and mt blanket to read. This is a spicy autumn-inspired small-town romantic comedy. That’s all I need to know!

Warrior Princess Assassin – Brigid Kemmerer
Brigid Kemmerer is an author I know because of her YA books. Warrior Princess Assassin is her adult fantasy debut and it sounds good! I love the fact that this is going to be the tale of three characters. It’ll be interesting to see how all of this gets connected.
Series
So starting this month, I’ll be adding a few sequels to my TBR next month. One of my reading goals is to finish series, so I thought this would be a good way to motivate me to keep on reading.

Carl’s Doomsday Scenario – Matt Dinniman
I loved the first book in this series, so it’s time to read more about Carl and Princess Donut. Carl’s Doomsday Scenario is the shortest book in the series, so I’m lucky with that this month, haha. Let’s see how the next level goes!

Fate & Furies – Helen Scheuerer
After the ending of Vows & Ruins, I need to know how the story continues. That twist wasn’t something I was expecting and I know it’s not as simple or black and white as it seems. I’m halfway through the series now, so let’s keep on going.

Rivals – Katharine McGee
I read the first two books in this series late last year and I’m afraid if I don’t read the final two soon, I’ll need to do a reread. This series is a take on what if the US has a royal family instead of a president. There’s a lot of drama, but it’s so much fun to read!
Backlist/Physical Books

Glint – Raven Kennedy
This random pick is actually funny, because it would’ve been a perfect pick for the series part of my TBR. I enjoyed Gild, but I’ve heard this series gets better and better. The Plated Prisoner is also finally a completed series, so I’ll be closer to finishing this King Midas retelling.

Quicksilver – Callie Hart
I actually should’ve already have read Quicksilver, but plans changed! I’ve heard so many amazing things about this start of a new romantasy series. The sequel releases in a few months, so it’s time to catch up!

The Way I Hate Him – Meghan Quinn
Meghan Quinn is one of my favorite authors and she has such a big backlist! The Way I Hate Him is also on my list of 25 books for 2025. She always knows how to make me laugh, but I also heard this one hits you in all the feels.
So that’s my August TBR! It’s quite the list, but I’m excited about them all. Have you read any of these? Or what are a few books you want to read in August? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
