TTT #393| Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the Second Half of 2025

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is most anticipated book releasing in the second half of 2025. I have to say that this year has already been packed with new releases that sound amazing, and I know the second half of the year is going to be just as  busy. Let’s take a look at some of the releases I’m really excited about!

Katabasis – R.F. Kuang (August 26th)

Last year I read and loved R.F. Kuang’s The Poppy War trilogy! Yellowface is another release by her I enjoyed, and I only have Babel to catch up on. Katabasis is her next book and this sounds amazing! Two academic rivals must work together and go to Hell to save their professor’s soul. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book like that.

Arcana Academy – Elise Kova (July 22nd)

Magical tarot cards, a fake engagement, and a mysterious academy? That’s honestly all I need to know to want to read Arcana Academy. Some of my friends have already read an early copy and loved this book, so I’m very excited to sit down and read it myself.

Silvercloak – L.K. Steven (July 29th)

This author is one I’ve loved since she wrote The Exact Opposite of Okay. I read and loved Our Infinite Fates this year, so I’m very excited about Silvercloak. This is a new fantasy series that has magic fueled by pleasure and pain. I think that’s such an interesting way to portray magic.

Not Quite Dead Yet – Holly Jackson (July 22nd)

Holly Jackson in the author of the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder trilogy, and Not Quite Dead Yet is her adult debut. All I know is that our main character is trying to solve her own murder. That’s not normally the case in thrillers, so this one definitely caught my attention.

People Watching – Hannah Bonam-Young (September 9th)

Out of the Woods is one of my favorite reads of the year and I was surprised to see that we’re getting another release by Hannah this year. People Watching is a small town story that I know is going to hit in all the feels. Even though I know it’s going to be emotional, I know I’m going to love every minute of this story.

Tourist Season – Brynne Weaver (September 23rd)

The Ruinous Love Trilogy was so much fun and I was excited when the author introduced us to the main character of Tourist Season in the final book. I love this cover and I have a feeling I’m going to love this new dark romance trilogy.

Soul Searching – Lyla Sage (September 30th)

The Rebel Blue Ranch series ended this year and it was bittersweet, because I loved all of those books. We don’t have to wait long though, because Soul Searching releases at the end of September. I’ve been loving small town romances, so I know this one is going to be amazing.

Wild Reverence – Rebecca Ross (September 2nd)

Wild Reverence takes place in the same world as Divine Rivals and that makes my heart very happy. I want to say this is the story of the gods that are at war in that duology. I think it’s amazing the author is giving us more of that world.

The Entanglement of Rival Wizards – Sara Raasch (August 26th)

The Entanglement of Rival Wizards is described as Ali Hazelwood meets Dungeons & Dragons. That definitely caught my eye. Rival grad student wizards are forced to work together. I really hope this one has laugh out loud moments.

Dead & Breakfast – Kat Hillis & Rosiee Thor (October 14th)

The title alone has me wanting to read Dead & Breakfast. Two vampires open a bed and breakfast and try and solve the murder of the mayor who ends up dead. He’s found on their property, so they need to prove they’re not the bad guys. This sounds like perfect spooky season read.

So here are ten releases in the second half of the year I’m really excited about. Do we have any in common? Or are there any I need to know about? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
