Recently I’ve seen a lot of people on YouTube doing videos where they either have to read a book or unhaul it, or they even look back at hauls to see if they’ve read what they added to their shelves. We take a look back at our bookhauls every month, but that’s always looking back to the previous year.
What about the books I added to my shelves since we started this blog? So I decided to do a bookshelf check-in once every month or so. Take a look back at bookhauls from years ago to see what I’ve read, unhauled, and haven’t read. If I still own a book and haven’t read it, I will try and read it that month. It’ll be good to be a bit more aware of what’s been on my shelves for years. Let’s take a look back at September & October 2017! Our first two bookhauls.
I do want to start off by saying that I won’t be counting the eBooks or eARCs I added to our first bookhaul posts. This is to take a look at my physical collection.
Our very first bookhaul! In September 2019, I added 6 books and 3 graphic novels to my collection. As we speak, I’ve read 5 of the 6 books. I’ve also read 1 of the graphic novels and unhauled 1 (well 2, I read the first volume of Saga, but took that off of my shelves as well). So the two things I have left to read are:
Godsgrave – Jay Kristoff
I read and loved Nevernight in July 2019 and I ended up loving it! After that, I did start reading Godsgrave and I want to say I got pretty far. I am a reader that gets easily distracted, so even though I was enjoying this book I haven’t finished. To read this one, I may even need to reread Nevernight.
Paper Girls Vol. 1 – Brian K. Vaughn
I actually don’t remember where I heard of this one, but I was intrigued. A few of my friends have read and loved this, so that’s probably where I got it from.
In October I added three books to my shelves and I’m ashamed to say I’ve only read one of them, haha. The two I need to read to complete the books from this haul are:
Without Merit – Colleen Hoover
Without Merit is the first YA book by Colleen Hoover if I remember correctly. I know the reviews for this one are pretty mixed, so maybe that’s why I’ve kept putting this one off? Time to read this one for myself.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass – Melissa Bashardoust
This is a fantasy reimagining of Snow White and this simple cover has always been very intriguing. I will say I don’t hear many people talk about Girls Made of Snow and Glass, so I’m curious!
So here is my first bookshelf check-in! Have you read any of these? What book should I pick up first? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
I really enjoyed the Nevernight series. So, you might give it a try.
