As avid readers we happen to collect books every month. October is over, so we can now show you what we added to our collection this month.
Isabelle
I had a couple of nice additions to my ever growing collection this month! I’ve added 6 books (but since I’ve read 10 I don’t feel too bad! Although technically only 5 were physical copies…) I was just talking with Candyce about buying books and I’m really going to try and buy way less books these next couple of months. I need to get that TBR slightly under control haha.
Invictus – Ryan Graudin
When I first heard about this book I just knew I had to had it! It’s about time travel and the synopsis sounds great. I saw some really positive reviews and hope to start this one soon.
Trust Me, I’m Lying – Mary Elisabeth Summer
This one has been on my radar for quite a while and I finally got a copy. Candyce and I started a little project, (we’ll tell you all more very soon!) and decided that this was a good book for that project. I believe this one has an unreliable narrator and that’s one of my favourite things in books. I love it when you can’t trust anything you’re reading, so if you have any recs let me know in the comments 😉
Dazzling Heights – Katherine McGee
This is the second book in the Thousandth Floor series. I read book 1 last year for a Dutch publisher before it was released <3 So I decided to show my love and gratitude by buying this one in Dutch as well. I also really like my series to be the same format and language haha (doesn’t happen all the time unfortenately). I already started this one and will hopefully continue soon.
Monstress vol 2 – Marjorie Liu
After reading (and loving!) volume 1 last month I had to get volume 2 this month. So sad there isn’t a volume 3 yet. I already read (and again loved!) volume 2. I read it a bit quicker than volume 1 after knowing all the characters already.
Language of Thorns – Leigh Bardugo
This was the extra book in my Fairyloot this month (unboxing can be found here). I love Leigh Bardugo and her Grishaverse so I’m excited about this collection of short fairytales set in the Grishaverse. I’ll probably read 1 story in between other books I’m reading so it might be awhile before I finish it.
Forest of a Thousand Lanterns – Julie C. Dao
This was the main book in the Fairyloot and I was so happy with that! I was looking forward to it for quite a while and once again hope to read it soon. This is an reimagining about the Evil Queen set in an Eastern Asia inspired fantasy world. I love that the setting is something different than what we read about most of the time and I love that it’s an Evil Queen retelling, so I hope she’s kinda evil haha.
Apart from buying all these beauties I also got a couple of ebooks from authors to review. I’ve read 3 of the 4 and you’ve probably seen the reviews here already. If not there’re linked down below (they were all buddy reviews with Candyce haha)
Candyce
I was actually a good girl this month, haha. I only bought three books this month!
Without Merit – Colleen Hoover
Colleen Hoover is an autobuy author for me, so this one was delivered on release day. Unfortunately it didn’t fit in my reading schedule in October, so I am hoping it will in November.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass – Melissa Bashardoust
I see this book a lot online and it sounds really interesting, so I decided to order it. This book seems like the type of book I read during the winter.
Trust Me I’m Lying – Mary Elizabeth Summer
I actually wasn’t familiar with this book until Isabelle and I thought of something we want to do for the blog and needed a book. It sounds really good though. We hope to share our project with everyone soon.
Besides the physical books I bought this month, I was lucky enough to receive some e-books to review. Some of them you have already seen in our wrapup post yesterday, so I won’t say too much about them or the review, but you can click here to see the wrapup post yesterday!
The last 7 e-books will be reviewed in November on the blog, so keep an eye out! It’s going to be another fun and busy reading month! I can’t wait to share them with you!
So that was what we got this October. Are there any books you see here that you have as well? What books did you buy in October?
I normally don’t care much about Time traveling in books but Invictus sounds so good! Think I’ll add that one to my wishlist.
And Girls made of Snow and Glass sounds really awesome as well!
Without Merit has been on my shelves since the release but I haven’t gotten around to reading it yet, yikes.
Nice haul ladies!!
I’ve added 23 printed books to the collection and 20 new e-books, whoops haha.
I hope to read Invictus soon, it really sounds amazing. Will let you know if it’s a must buy 😉
You’ve got a great haul once again hahaha!
Amazing haul! So many great books here, I’ve really been dying to read Invictus, Monstress Vol. 2, Forest of a Thousand Lanterns, and Language of Thorns! Hope you enjoy all of these! 🙂
Thank you! Super excited to read those too! Already read Monstress vol 2 and loved it!! I NEED vol 3 now haha
