We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Authors (or books by authors) Who Live In My State/Country. A fun topic! I will only pick authors who write in English or have books translated in English, hopefully I can find 10 of them. Let’s jump in!
1. Corinne Duyvis
This is a Dutch author, who writes in English. I met Corinne a couple of years ago, she was so friendly. Corinne is autistic and started the hashtag #ownvoices. I own 2 of her books, but I have yet to read them.
2. Marieke Nijkamp
When I met Corinne Duyvis, I also met Marieke Nijkamp. She writes in Dutch, but her books are translated in English. Her biggest novel is This Is Where It Ends, I cried a lot while reading that one.
3. Annie Bellet
Candyce and I met Annie at Dutch Comic Con a couple of years ago. At that time she was living in the Netherlands, I hope that is still the case haha. I own a copy of her book Level Grind, I started reading it and I should really get back to it.
4. Herman Koch
This is another Dutch author whose work is translated in English. One of his most famous novels is The Dinner, it’s also the book I read by him. I personally didn’t love it, but I know a lot of other people do!
5. Kara S. Weaver
This is a friend of Candyce and mine, so I do know she lives in the Netherlands haha. She self-published a couple of books and I’m ashamed to say I have yet to dive in. I’m sure they are great!!
I know there should be more, but I personally can’t find them! If you know of any please let me know down below!
Nijkamp is the only author I’ve heard of from your list. I think I’ve read one of her books…
Happy TTT!
