I’ve noticed recently that literary fiction has been catching my eye. There have been some new eARCs I’ve requested that are in this genre, and I have some on my shelves and Kobo I want to get to soon. So let’s take a look at what literary fiction I’m adding to my TBR.
I Hope This Finds You Well – Natalie Sue
All I know is that our main character accidentally gains access to her colleagues’ private emails and messages. She thinks she can use this information to save her job. I already know this is going to get very messy. I’m here for it!
Anxious People – Fredrik Backman
I loved Beartown and I’ve been saying that I want to read more by Fredrik Backman. An apartment open house goes south when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes them hostage. I’m really curious about this one!
Intermezzo – Sally Rooney
Sally Rooney is a popular author I’ve been wanting to give a try, but it just hasn’t happened. Intermezzo is her most recent release. This is a story about grief, love, and family according to the synopsis. And I believe that our two main characters are brothers.
Normal People – Sally Rooney
Normal People seems to be one of Sally Rooney’s more popular books. It seems our two main characters are the complete opposite and ignore each other at school. Throughout the years they keep being pulled to each other. I’m intrigued!
Blue Sisters – Coco Mellors
Blue Sisters is a book I’ve talked about a few times on the blog so far. It’s one I still really want to read. We have four estranged sisters. When one passes away, the other three come home. This is definitely going to bring lots of secrets and drama to the surface.
eARCs
Ruins – Amy Taylor
A couple goes to Greece to house-sit for a friend. They hope the summer will bring them closer together again. A woman enters the picture and it seems that this may make things pretty complicated and now how they’re expecting.
My Friends – Fredrik Backman
My Friends is a moving tale about four friends who have such a powerful bond, it changes someone’s life twenty-five years later. That’s all I know, and all I want to know. I have a feeling it’s best to go in blind when I go to read this one.
Fun for the Whole Family – Jennifer E. Smith
Four siblings who were always close, haven’t spoken for years. This changes when something happens and brings them all back together. I’m curious to see what has happened and all of the secrets and family drama it reveals.
Maine Characters – Hannah Orenstein
Maine Characters is described as The Parent Trap for adults. I couldn’t imagine getting to my deceased father’s cabin to find someone else there who just happens to be a half sister I never knew about. This makes me think that Maine Characters is going to messy, dramatic, and emotional.
The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits – Jennifer Weiner
These two sisters were both musical, but that’s where similarities ended. They did end up being pop sensations in the early 2000s. When their band broke up without any warning, no reason was ever given. Until twenty years later one of their daughters becomes curious, so it’ll be interesting to see what secrets she finds.
I’m hoping to read all of these soon, so I’ll definitely do an update post to see if this is a genre for me. Have you read any of these? Or do you have any recommendations? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
