WWW Wednesday #79

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

The Doctor – Nikki Sloane

The Doctor is an age gap/ex’s dad romance. Unfortunately, this didn’t work for me. The age gap felt weird and uncomfortable at times. Also, this was a bit too much sexy times and not enough story. I think only having one POV didn’t help this book for me either.

An Ember in the Ashes – Sabaa Tahir

I’m rereading the An Ember in the Ashes series. I read this almost ten years ago when it released and it’s good I picked it up again, because I forgot so much of the events. The big story lines were still in my memory, but a lot of the smaller plot lines I forgot. I’ll be reading the second book in February and I’m excited to continue.

What are you currently reading?

Goodbye Days – Jeff Zentner

The Serpent King was an emotional read and I knew that Jeff Zentner could give us an emotional punch, but Goodbye Days hits a lot harder. Our main character is grieving the loss of his best friends who were in a car accident when the driver was answering a text message to him.

Holding the Reins – Paisley Hope

Since reading the Chestnut Springs series, I’ve been loving cowboy romances. Holding the Reins is one I’ve been seeing around, so I wanted to give it a try. At this very moment, I’ve only read the first chapter but it started off great. I think I’ll love this brother’s best friend romance.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Blood & Steel – Helen Scheuerer

Blood & Steel is the start of a fantasy romance series I keep seeing everywhere. My Discord book club is having this as a weekly read this week and I’m excited. Women are forbidden to wield blades and our main character has trained in secret all her lives. I know this is going to get interesting.

Out of the Woods – Hannah Bonam-Young

Hannah Bonam-Young is an author that has become an auto-buy/read author for me. Out of the Woods is one of my most anticipated releases of 2025 and it’s finally out. We meet Sarah and Caleb in Out on a Limb and I can’t wait to curl up with this book.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
