We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Best Books I Read in 2024 but Candyce and I always do these kind of posts together in January. So I decided to with a different topic; books I meant to read in 2024 (but didn’t). There are more than 10 of those so this will be a selection. Let’s jump in!
1. The Bone Shard Daughter – Andrea Stewart
This one has been on many TBR’s of mine (and I have a feeling I will be saying that a lot… haha). Like I have said time and time again, I think I will love this one and I have really high hopes for it. Maybe 2025 will be the year?
2. Jade City – Fonda Lee
This is another one of those books that has been on a ton of TBR’s of mine. And another one of those that I just know I will love. All of the reviews are raving and it just sounds like it will be right up my alley. I really hope to read this one in 2025.
3. Dune – Frank Herbert
This one I bought after seeing Dune 2. I already read (and loved) this one years ago and I would like to read the second book because that movie left me wanting MORE. While I still would like to reread this one, I’m not super eager to be honest.
4. Bloodwitch – Susan Dennard
Are you tired of seeing this one on lists like this yet? I adored the first books in this series and have been wanting to continue ever since. This is another one that goes straight on the 2025 list haha.
5. Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow – Gabrielle Zevin
I have been wanting to read this one ever since it was released. It’s also one that sounds like I will love it and I have high hopes for it. There are a lot of positive reviews out there, although I haven’t heard people talk about it lately.
6. The Atlas Six – Olivie Blake
This is a popular book and I for sure still want to read it. Somehow it just hasn’t made it to the top of my list yet. It remains on my TBR and I have a feeling this will be one of those books I’ll pick up out of the blue.
7. Before the Coffee Gets Cold – Toshikazu Kawaguchi
I totally forgot this one was on my 2024 TBR to be honest. When I first got it I read a couple of pages and I really enjoyed that, it’s not a big book so I might pick it up sometime soon. Although we’ve all heard that before right haha.
8. The Hero of Ages – Brandon Sanderson
This was one I wanted to read to finish a series, and because I really enjoyed the first two books in the series of course. I have really high hopes for this one and I would love to continue with all my Brandon Sanderson books.
9. The Priory of the Orange Tree – Samantha Shannon
This is such a big book haha. I’m for sure intimidated by the length of this book but at the same time I also think I will really enjoy it. A couple of friends of mine loved this book so much, but that intimidates me a bit as well haha. I want to love this for them!
10. Empire of the Vampire – Jay Kristoff
I have adored all the Jay Kristoff books I’ve read so far, so I have good hopes for this one. It is another really big one, so that is part of the reason I haven’t picked it up yet. I guess this one will go to the 2025 TBR as well ;).
These are just 10 of the books I haven’t picked up in 2024 even though I was planning on doing so. Have you read any of these? What did you think of them? And do you have any books you were planning on reading in 2024 but still haven’t? Let me know down below!
I’ve heard such good things about Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Fun topic! I could make a Top 100 list with this prompt – ha ha. I haven’t read any of these either, if it makes you feel any better 🙂
Happy TTT!
