Bookish Item| December TBR

It’s almost December, and I’m already in complete holiday mode, haha. I’ll probably mostly be reading holiday romances, but there are some eARCs and other books I would like to finish before 2024 is over. So let’s take a look at my December TBR!

Group Reads

Make the Season Bright – Ashley Herring Blake

Delilah Green Doesn’t Care is still one of my favorite books, so of course my swoonalong is going to be Ashley’s holiday romance! Two exes stuck in the same house during the holidays? We know that’s going to get messy.

eARCs

I actually have a few January eARCs that I’m hoping to get a head start on this month. My Netgalley ratio is still a reading goal of mine.

A Sea of Unspoken Things – Adrienne Young

Adrienne Young writes amazing atmospheric books, and A Sea of Unspoken Things sounds right up my alley. Also, a perfect book for this time of year. Our main character investigates her brother’s mysterious death.

Brewed with Love – Shelly Page

All I really know is that this is a cozy, contemporary romantasy with witches. Do we even really need to know more? There also seems to be a second chance romance. I’m so excited to read Brewed with Love.

Holiday Reads

I have quite a few holiday romances I want to read, but I thought I’d give a little preview of a few I know for sure I’m picking up.

How My Neighbor Stole Christmas – Meghan Quinn

Meghan Quinn has written some of my favorite romantic comedies, so of course I have to read this holiday romance. We’re getting an enemies to lovers romance and I couldn’t be more excited.

The Christmas Crush – Noelle Douglas

Our main characters in this romantic comedy are a small town baker and a career woman working for a cookie conglomerate. In all honesty, this sounds just like a Hallmark Christmas movie. Which makes me very happy!

Christmas Eve Love Story – Ginny Baird

The fact that Christmas Eve Love Story has a repeated time loop caught my eye. I love stories where that happens. We know a romance is going to develop in this story and I’m here for it.

Physical Books/Backlist Books

As usual, I’m picking three random books from my physical TBR. Let’s see what I get this month.

The Kingdom – Jess Rotherberg

In The Kingdom we have a fantasy theme park that promises a happily ever after. It seems that the employees are programmed? Robots maybe? When one starts feeling human emotions it seems that things are going to take an intense turn.

Funny Story – Emily Henry

Emily Henry is a favorite author of mine and part of me has been saving Funny Story. I’ve been sitting here thinking why, because I know I’m going to love it. So I’m determined to read it before the year is over.

Nectar of the Wicked – Ella Fields

Nectar of the Wicked was the first Fairyloot romantasy book (I think), and I’ve been excited to read it. All I know is this has fae. I think I’m going to go in blind other than that.

So that’s part of my December TBR. There’s a big chance I end up reading only holiday romances, but we’ll see where the month goes, haha. What are you reading in December? Any books you’re wanting to get off of your shelf before the year is over? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
