As the kids in my classroom say, I am a bit of a nerd haha. And part of that is seen in the daily games I play. Like a lot of people I started with wordle, but since then I have moved on to a couple of other games. Let’s take a look at them!
NY Times – Connections, Strands & the Mini
While I started out with Wordle, I quickly switched to three other NY Times games. Most of you probably know Connections, 16 words you have to find 4 groups of 4 in. Some of the connections are insane and especially as a European with English as a second language I sometimes don’t see the connection at all. But it is fun to learn new things! The Strands is another hit or miss for me, but with the hints I do always get this in the end. I like crosswords a lot but they can be so difficult, especially when the language and culture isn’t what you grew up with. Still, I do enjoy the mini as it is usually doable!
I’m not sure where I came across this puzzle, but it’s another fun one! You have to guess a 5 letter word and it tells you how far off you are based on the alphabet. If that makes sense? Haha. They’re usually pretty normal words but it does challenge me to think which words it could be.
Conexo is like Connections, but you get unlimited guesses and you can get hints when you’re stuck. It makes the game a lot more chill. Contexto is really fun, you have to guess the word and all of your guesses are ranked based on how far off they are in meaning to the main word. Sometimes I have no clue which direction to look in, but it’s another fun challenge! Letroso is a bit like Wordle, but the word can be whatever length.
This is a grid with letters and you have to find a couple words that all have to do with a certain theme. I definitely have to look up hints every other day because these can be so hard! And I don’t always feel like trying and trying and trying haha.
These are most of the daily games I play! Do you have any daily games you play? Any recommendations for me? I would love to hear from you!
