Today it’s time for another book tag and I figured is was high time for a Halloween themed book tag. I found the Hyped for Halloween book tag over at Life of a Female Bibliophile and decided to do this one as well. Let’s take a look at the questions!
What book gave you the creeps?
Small Spaces by Katherine Arden definitely gave me the creeps! Especially considering this was a middle grade book. I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and I should continue with book 3&4 soon. Maybe I can pick them up around Halloween.
What book gives you the best Halloween vibes?
Pumpkinheads is a really cute, non-scary Halloween vibe. It made me really jealous about not being able to spend Halloween in the USA, I would love to visit a pumpkin patch in the fall sometime. I loved spending a cozy afternoon in this story!
What’s your favorite vampire book?
I have to say The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh, it’s not your typical vampire book and I really enjoyed it. Somehow I haven’t read book 3 and 4 in the series yet and I should do so soon, before I have forgotten all of the details. I also have to give a shoutout to one of my favorite vampire short story from the Vampires Never Get Old anthology; The House of Black Sapphires, I’m still hoping for a full length novel.
What book scared you so much you had to sleep with the light on?
I know this is such a weird pick but Scream for Me had me so scared. There was no way I could sleep without finishing the book even after that I still couldn’t sleep easily. This book is realistic enough to make me imagine a lot of scenarios….
What’s your favorite book about witches/goblins/ghosts/demons?
This was a difficult one! I love reading about witches so I have a lot. And the one I picked might not feel like a book about witches to some. But I think it counts, so I’m going with it haha. A Deadly Scholomance had so many of my favorite elements and I really loved the book. Maybe I should reread this series soon.
What book do you wish was scarier than it was?
While I don’t say this often about books, as I scare easy haha, I did think There’s Someone Inside Your House could’ve been a lot scarier. I thought the book had way too much focus on the romance instead of the serial killer and that was a disappointment for sure.
What’s your favorite book that takes place in October?
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I can’t think of any books other than the ones I already mentioned above. So I have to give up on this question, please don’t get mad at me!
And that was the Hyped for Halloween Book tag! It got me really excited and I once again have way too many books I want to read right away. What are you reading to get in the Halloween mood? Let me know down below.
I’m reading a book now that takes place in October – Morbidly Yours- but normally I wouldn’t be able to answer that off the top of my head either! haha
