It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!
So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What did you recently finish reading?
City of Nightmares – Rebecca Schaeffer
I’m so glad that we chose this duology as a part of our series slayers reads in 2024. The concept of people actually turning into their worst nightmares was so interesting. I loved the characters, the world, and the politics. I can’t wait to read the sequel in August.
A Thousand Miles – Bridget Morrissey
A road trip romance is something I love to read. Especially when it’s a friends to lovers romance. This story was emotional, heartwarming, and left a smile on my face. Abe the cat definitely stole the show though. Bridget Morrissey is definitely becoming an auto-buy author.
What are you currently reading?
The Wren in the Holly Library – K.A. Linde
This fantasy takes place in our world, but one where monsters emerged and have created a treaty with humans. That definitely caught my attention. Kierse, without realizing it, breaks that treaty and turns her life upside down. She makes a deal with the mysterious Graves and what he wants can put her life in danger. I love that this is filled with a new interesting world, interesting characters, and what seems to be an intense romance?
The Au Pair Affair – Tessa Bailey
As I’m typing this, I’ve only read about 30% of The Au Pair Affair, and I’m enjoying it. Tessa Bailey tends to be a hit or miss author for me and so far so good. There are some remarks from the MMC that are a bit cringey, but because the rest is good, they can be forgiven so far!
What do you think you’ll read next?
Better than the Movies – Lynn Painter
So I’ve actually read this book twice already, but I have been itching to read this one again. The sequel, Nothing Like the Movies, releases in September and I have an eARC I want to read soon. I kind of want to be completely back into the world with these characters before I do though.
A Thousand Boy Kisses – Tillie Cole
Just like with Better than the Movies, A Thousand Boy Kisses is going to be a reread. I read this one 8 years ago, so I’d say I’m ready for a little refresher before reading the sequel, A Thousand Broken Pieces, that just came out. I know it’s going to break my heart all over again, but I just can’t resist.
So that’s this week’s WWW Wednesday post! Have you read any amazing books recently? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
An interesting mix. I particularly like the sound of The Wren in the Holly Library (plus I like the look of the cover!) .
Have a great week!
